Mamiya M645J: Hot Shoe Cover & PC Sync Socket Cover30 Jun 2007 06:56 GMT1
The M645 manual recommends (in several places) that
in order to avoid electrical shock:
if one is using a flash connected via the hot shoe on top of the finder,
      then one should put a PC Sync Socket Cover on the PC sync socket;

What kind of film?29 Jun 2007 06:39 GMT2
Among my granfather's old medium format negatives (6x9, 6x6 and 6x4.5)
I found one that is bigger: the negative is 88mm wide and 114mm long;
the picture area is 106x82 mm. I don't think he ever owned a camera
for this format, since there is only this one picture, he must have
Mamiya m645 frame counter question28 Jun 2007 15:13 GMT2
I recently purchased a second-hand Mamiya M645,
together with a boatload of equipment.
However, I'm still having trouble getting it going.
When I take out the old film cassette (?) that was in there,

Harrumph,
Just got my Mamiya 7II back from Mamiya America Corp.'s repair service.
The little plastic fold-out knob that winds the blackout curtain split
and fell off. They put on a new one.
old brownie film..scanning..help27 Jun 2007 22:54 GMT16
I'm amazed at the quality of b/w pictures that my mom took with her
brownie camera in the 40's to 50's.  The film is preserved in pristine
condition.
Now I want to scan all her negatives, but I'm not sure what flatbed will

Pentax 67 ... ?21 Jun 2007 22:30 GMT2
I bought a Pentax 67 with 105mm lens on eBay. No camera manual.  I
loaded film into it, rolled the film forward and pressed the shutter
release:  Whap.  The camera then froze:  no more film advance or shutter
release.  Looking into the camera without the lens, it appears the
120 vs 22018 Jun 2007 18:38 GMT4
Total newbie to medium format, with a newly-acquired used Mamiya m645 (J?).
Apparently it has cassettes or cartridge that allow it to take "120" or "220" format.
But ...  How are they different?
Are not the images the same dimensions?
Beattie Intenscreen #83324 for Mamiya RZ18 Jun 2007 02:07 GMT6
I have had one of these for a couple of years (or so I thought until I sold
it).  The buyer is concerned that the screen is mounted in a frame that
says "Mamiya" on it.  Can anyone tell me if this is the normal frame for
the Beattie Intenscreen on the Mamiya RZ?  I am having no ...

TLR with continuously variable shutter speed?03 Jun 2007 13:04 GMT28

i.e. 1/60, 1/125, etc.?
Thanks,
Graduated filter on TLR- anyone tried it.02 Jun 2007 17:41 GMT2
Seem to have reasonble success with a polarizer by having two.  Thought I
might try holding a graduated filter in front of the viewing lens for
composing the image and then try to hold it in the same place infront the
taking lens when I take the shot.
