Kiev 60 vs. Mamiya/Pentax and questions regarding lenses for Kiev vs. Hassleblad/Rollei30 Sep 2006 23:31 GMT11
I know this isn't the right forum, but I also know many around here
have shot with these at one point or another.  The fact that the other
"film" based boards are basically dead makes me feel this is the best
place to make the post.  I hope the board does not have a problem with
Cnet Reviews Nikon D80 and Canon DR XTi30 Sep 2006 20:54 GMT18
I just completed reading reviews of the Nikon D80 and Canon XTi in
Cnet.  The conclusion was that if you are building a system of scratch
the D80 is a better choice.
In many ways I do agree.  However at first glance Nikon lenses

There are two ways to spell Ockham/Occam.  Britannica prefers the former.

Usuable Shots Straight From the Camera30 Sep 2006 14:47 GMT2
I take shots most days in connection with my work in Estate Agency/Real
Estate. Sometimes I have time to make adjustments but usually not. The shots
from the camera always seem to need a little brightening, a little more
colour saturation and a touch of sharpening.
RAW vs. jpeg30 Sep 2006 14:01 GMT9
I took some inside shots (room with florescent lighting) with my Canon
Digital Rebel set to capture both RAW and jpeg images at the same time
- same shot. Surprisingly (or, not so surprisingly) the jpeg images
looked much better. Now I understand that RAW images have not been

I need to update my online gallery, but I thought some of you may like to
see the "Crocodile Hunter" (Steve Irwin) when we visited Australia Zoo some
time ago.
Go to www.paulburdettphotography.fotopic.net and click on "Australia Zoo".

Printer Help needed ??30 Sep 2006 08:19 GMT2
Dear Group,
I seem to have had a bad time with printers, rangeing from the Lexmark,
Epson and now HP, becuase I used 'compatible inks' I couldn't claim on the
warranties when they all broke, including my much loved Epson 1290 A3, which
Where to buy 12x18 photo albums???30 Sep 2006 07:26 GMT30
I've Googled...hunted...and failed...
Does anyone know of a source for LARGE albums which will display 12x18
photos...preferably without extra space...specifically for 12x18 or larger
3:2 ration prints?  I'm talking about albums with covered pages made for
Digicam Users and Post Processing30 Sep 2006 03:57 GMT10
Digicam Users and Post Processing
When I upload CF photo images to my PC hard drive I never cease to be
struck at their 'unfinished' quality straight from the camera ( I
am using a Canon G6), compared to the post processed result, which
How do you read the numbers on a lens?30 Sep 2006 03:05 GMT9
I have a Quantary 70-120 lens.  It works easy enough but I was curious how
to read the numbers on the lens.  In other words, how do I interpret and
apply them. There is one set of numbers on the lens side and on the mount
side there is a dial that has another set.  This ring is ...

lens cleaner/blower30 Sep 2006 00:40 GMT4
Arrgh. I apologise if this seems to be a repost...
On a recent trip to the Grand Canyon, I needed a "lens
cleaner/blower" to remove some dust from the sensor of
my 20D... the only one the local shop had was a cheap
