Photographing Celestial events30 Nov 2008 23:23 GMT6
Ok, I just got an email link (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/
story/RTGAM.20081125.wtrio1125/BNStory/Science/home) regarding the
moon, jupiter and venus all coming together this weekend.  I was
wondering what kind of setting I would use to take photos of celestial
External Flash with Fast Recharge30 Nov 2008 19:46 GMT2
I recently shot a friend with her kids; got a lot of great shots with
a Canon S3 IS. It was the first time I used CHDK too. I used the
Sports setting cause the kids are squirmy so I went for a zillion
shots hoping to catch a few good ones. It worked...
Floodlit sporting events30 Nov 2008 03:33 GMT2
Anybody got any handy tips, pointers or things I should be aware of when
shooting a floodlit sporting event?
By all accounts the floodlights at the ground I'll be shooting at on Tuesday
night are very powerfull, of the sort found at medium sized stadiums.
Di and di-II lenses30 Nov 2008 02:25 GMT2
First let me say that I am not in the market for full frame Nikon.  May be
some day, but not know.  This is just a point of wonderment to me.  I know
that Nikon has their DX line of lenses and from what I have read when you
put one on a full-frame camera, it will use a smaller ...

Canon/Nikon Bankrupt.29 Nov 2008 17:50 GMT28
I have just seen the new Sony a900 which is as good as the 1ds that I own
but for a third of the price. Goodbye Canon, hello Sony. The industrial
might of Sony will bury these old fashioned companies unless they respond
with massive price cuts.
Camera psychologists here?29 Nov 2008 15:46 GMT6
Psychological conundrum. Kodak manufactured simple twin lens reflex
cameras named Kodak Duaflex. Many, perhaps most of those Duaflex
camera owners  think the name reads "Duraflex" even though the name
Duaflex clearly is shown on the camera front. If you doubt this, go to
Looking for feedback, please.29 Nov 2008 14:54 GMT4
Good evening, and happy Thanksgiving, all.  I would like to ask if you
would take a minute to look at a page of "industrial" photography that
I have posted and give me any feedback or criticism that you might.
(I'm not particularly tender.  Feel free to give me your best shot.)
Fuji Frontier Auto Correct Nightmare29 Nov 2008 09:38 GMT4
I just had an interesting revelation in a lab. The operator let me have a
look at the edit software that queues the files ready to print, it also has
an auto correct function. While I was looking at my already corrected in
Lightroom files going through I noticed that it was auto ...

I'm hoping to gain familiarity with the whole RAW thing - any
recommended primer please?

Film versus digital sensor lenses question28 Nov 2008 14:37 GMT10
Some years ago the manufacturers made statements to the effect that
lenses for digital cameras needed to be designed differently than
lenses for film due to the shape of the sensors.
In particular, something in the sensor design, either the relative
Does anybody here use Flickr?28 Nov 2008 14:34 GMT14
If so, does anybody know what the hell they've done to the user interface?
And most importantly, does anybody know how to switch it back to the old
interface?
A Possibility Or Hopeless?28 Nov 2008 14:10 GMT5
I'm thinking about and just starting to look into photography for
profit; photos would be mostly of scenery and animals locally. If this a
hopeless money loser or could there be potential? Please recommend
cameras for under $1000. Thank you for any comments. KO
