Am I doing something wrong or is there more than one flavour of USB2 card
reader?
Until a few days ago my biggest SD card (for a D80) was 2Gb.  All fine and
dandy - stick it in the card reader and up it would pop as a drive from

I'm referring to English Law.
I'm aware that the current laws on photography permit anyone to photograph
anything as long as it's in a public place (subject to the exclusions on
photos of children at the beach and security installations.

I tried a Sony fast print machine at my local ASDA store today, the
bugger decided that what I really, really wanted was a nice yellow cast
on all my finely lit snaps... cue "discussion" with the reprographics
expert in store (er, young bint on nightshift, surely??) who was ...

Does anyone know where in the uk I might be able to purchase a brand new
Nikon D70 or D70s (and possibly 18-70mm lens)? I know it's an older camera,
but having owned one previously, I'd like to have one again for old time's
sake. :)

I've got to ask....'does any knowledgeable Nikonian know if Nikon make '2'
lenses with focal lengths of 18-70mm?

Looks to me either like CGI or extremely enhanced by CGI. Seems to

Does anyone know of  a program that will read the time and date off a JPG
file and put it on the image itself?

Can you REALLY edit photos on a LCD monitor as well as you can on a CRT
monitor? I would think things like sharpening would be difficult.
I am using a 15 year old Sony 19" that was $800 back then. It has work well

There's a 'hidden' button on the bottom of the Nikon D70, and it's used to
*reset* the camera settings, but, does this button also reset the actuation
counter to zero? Curious.

For the past ten years or so I have been using HP5+ as my primary B/W
emulsion, having found it to be contrastier than Tri-X, which I had used
for the previous 20 years.
Now I'm finding that Tri-X is more contrasty -- to my eye -- than HP5+.
