scenario? i heard about using exposure compensation but am unclear about it.

Travel Insurance for Camera Equipment?20 May 2008 12:11 GMT2
I'm about to take a month-long trip to Peru, and I'm very tempted to
take my DSLR and a few lenses with me rather than a P&S.  My problem
is that I can't afford the cost of losing that kind off equipment.
I'm not a professional, though I spend a bit of time doing

A720 challenges the D3?18 May 2008 08:35 GMT15
That's right!
I know this is one of those burning issues that people just can't make up
their minds on.  Which camera takes better pics, the Canon A720 or the Nikon
D3?
Canon G9 spare battery17 May 2008 22:37 GMT13
So, following my posting a while back and a long think I bought a G9 over a
400D (primarily down to the size - I'll be taking it walking/cycling a lot).
I *think* I need a couple of spare batteries (as I could be up to 10 days
away from electricity).
Luminosity16 May 2008 14:04 GMT6
I usually try to set my exposure so that there will be a whitest white and
blackest black, using the full range of illumination.  I use manual mode a
lot, and set ISO, aperature and shutter speed accordingly.  I have a Canon
S3.

I have a Sony DSC H1.  I can plug cords into it, and see the pictures on the
camera.  Is there a camera or a device that will allow me to plug into this
camera, or any camera that lets you use a laptop as a screen?  I want to set
mine up with a 20' remote, and want to see what's ...
Old filter on new lens?13 May 2008 07:14 GMT1
I have an old Hoya filter, and a new Nikkor 18-55mm, both 52mm
diameter. Can I use the filter on that lens? Is there any unforseen
issues I am not aware of?
