Portrait photographers have very special skills for they capture the
essence of their subjects if they are good.  Portrait photographers
take pictures of tiny babies and their grandmothers that the family

I currently have a Sony DSC H1, and I've outgrown it.
Went to the camera store today to buy a Nikon D40x with the two lenses.  Had
my check book in my pocket.  The camera tekkie, a girl (woman) with military
and LEO experience steered me away from the D40x to the Canon 40D.  In ...

Well I bit the bullet today and bought the G9. I am well impressed.
Can anyone tell me how to get the camera to shoot in the RAW mode please.
Also I am looking for some cheap SD cards

What can I say?  Timing is everything, even when you can't see what the hell

Is there someone using any of the combinations in subject ?
What settings (whitebalance, basecurve, icc ..) are you standard using
for results that are comparable to the jpg coming out of the camera ?

Does anyone recommend a cheap way to check and clean the sensor of my
DSLR camera?  I read that dust gets in easily. I have seen some tools
that clean it and check it for dust and particles, but was wondering
if there is a cheap or free alternative?

my wife just got this camera. from what i can tell it's a pro grade
model. however, she has this cheap $30 tripod still. i'm afraid the
camera will fall off it one day since the camera probably weights
more.

I got a EOS 350D for my birthday, and would like to learn about photography
I've looked at a fiew You-tube video lessons, bought a few magazines and the
books I've bought
while they show great photos, I'm not learning anything.

I'm looking on their website and I love the prices, but I'm leary
because it's so much lower than places like pictobooks and art
leather. I've done some self-mount albums in the past, but it's too
scary!! I'd hate to screw up! Has anyone tried them?
