Finding an old photo is like finding $20 in your coat pocket first wear of winter.18 Jan 2008 02:02 GMT1
I was cleaning out a box of stuff last night and found an old disc, put
it in and it contained a heap of folders and a few photos.
Decided to have a look and found one I took on the old Pentax MZ70

Recommendations for an external flash for use on a camera with no hot shoe or peripheral connection17 Jan 2008 22:56 GMT8
I'm currently a user of a Panasonic FZ-20 and am now considering
getting the Panasonic FZ-18 which has a greater zoom.
However the FZ-18 only has an intregal flash & no hot shoe or
peripheral connection to allow connection to an eternal flash.
why do SLR cameras suck at bracketing and continuous shooting?17 Jan 2008 17:47 GMT20
I was disappointed when I tried the bracketing function on the Nikon

Filters16 Jan 2008 11:58 GMT30
I've just moved up to a Nikon D40.  I'm wondering if I should add a
skylight filter to protect the lens.  I've heard that they slightly
degrade the image, and I've also heard that they don't.
I shoot half-and-half family pix and macro shots of watches, coins,

Model release forms - a question14 Jan 2008 04:37 GMT2
I've recently started submitting my photography for inclusion in magazines,
which has been greeted with a mixed response, and a fairly encouraging
initial success rate.
One particular group of the mags I want to target is specifically asking for

When I was picking up a new gray card at the photo store, the clerk

Ornamentals underneath Eucalyptus trees?13 Jan 2008 22:29 GMT5
Is there a list, somewhere, that shows which plants can live underneath
Eukes? Southern California. Most plants refuse to cohabit with Eukes. I need
to plant some shrubs or trees to cover up the burned trunks of several huge
Eucalyptus trees.

Converting a color printer to B+W12 Jan 2008 20:35 GMT18
I've got a Canon i9900, which does a fine job on color, but it's not
great for B+W. I'm an old zone system junkie and probably a bit
spoiled (OK, I'm really spoiled with B+W)
I've seen a couple of photo printers that can run multiple shades of

Converting Slides to CDs/DVDs12 Jan 2008 00:01 GMT29
Does anyone have the time to offer any advice on this subject?
Lessons learned?
