damage to the photo itself?
Photoshop Elements 4.0 Tutorial/book recommendation wanted29 Nov 2007 21:52 GMT12
I do simple editing with Picasa but from time to time I use Photoshop
Elements 4.0. While I can generally get  the things done I want with PE 4.0,
I just know I could do a lot better with more knowledge. Can anyone
recommend a good tutorial or book that I can use to learn PE 4.0 ...

DSLR with wide dynamic range - Fuji S5 Pro only?29 Nov 2007 10:28 GMT17
Once I queried in these newsgroups about HDR feature that is directly
built in a digital camera. One response indicated that HDR technique
needs more computing memory and time to process, and therefore not
efficient to be included as a process in the camera. Hence the

I tried a few different settings on my camera at my sons hockey game.
The 1600 - 800 ISO settings worked pretty good. Some of the pictures were a
little blurred.
Is there somewhere I can post the pictures that came out blurry so I can get

Not sure if I have a problem with my new lens but the manual focus ring just
rotates without hitting a stop in either direction.  IT focuses fine but I
am unsure if this lens works this way or mine is busted.  Thanks in advance.

Question on Camera body vs Camera Lens features28 Nov 2007 11:27 GMT21
I'm in the process of purchasing a DSLR camera primarily for my kids sports.
After doing a lot of research it appears the Nikon D40x or Pentax K10D are
the choices for my budget.  The Pentax appears to be noticabally superior
when it comes to specs, but a manager of a camera shop ...
Question Re: Studio Photo Lighting27 Nov 2007 16:23 GMT8
My daughter is a "startup" portrait photographer and has purchased
several flood lamps w/diffusers.  As I watched her fiddling with these
things trying to get her lighting right I wondered why these things have
"on/off" switches rather than dimmers.  It wouldn't take much to put

Does anyone know of a photo editing software that is comparable to
Microsoft's Picture It? I've been using it for years, but it's not
capatible with Vista and I'd like to find something that has the same
features. Photoshop is just to user-unfriendly and is missing some

Question about this ng26 Nov 2007 03:26 GMT14
I've been off the net for app. 4 years now, I used to subscribe to a
newsgroup that allowed you to post a small image attachment for people
to view and pass comment on, (amateur photography). Anyone know if this
is still around, and are people not attaching images in newgroups ...
Website design for Photography Business23 Nov 2007 06:28 GMT14
I would like to apologize in advance if this turns out to be a
duplicate post by me.  I tried to post my questions in another post,
but it never appeared, so I am not sure if things were running slow or
if something was out of whack when I attempted to post the original.
