Velvia31 Aug 2007 17:02 GMT11
I've been advised to stick Velvia film in my film SLR for taking night
images of illuminated buildings, and of sunsets/sunrises.
I'm aware that Velvia is slide film, and as such it's positive rather than
negative.

Extension tubes?28 Aug 2007 05:16 GMT5
I've heard I can use extension tubes with my Canon EF 50mm/1.8 lens to
obtain a macro effect at a lower cost than buying a macro lens.  Can anyone
give me some pointers on what type of tube to use with this and what I can
expect from it?

Praktica/Pentax28 Aug 2007 00:41 GMT6
I've been told that if I buy a Pentax DSLR, I might be able to use the same
lenses that fit my Praktica BCA.
Does anybody know if this is true?

While I will not go digital until my film slr quits or can no longer buy
film,  my mother is going digital.   So I am researching digital.  (she
is creative and not just a birthday picture type of gal)   I was
wondering how you get fast motion with a digital.   With film you get

Macro mode26 Aug 2007 21:07 GMT4
I just built a camera holder with a twenty foot release on it so I can put
it up really close to a hummingbird feeder on a tripod, stay back, and
capture some of the fine details my zoom pictures lack.
I need to get out the handbook (it's always with me in the bag) and read up
Digital Camera Recommendations25 Aug 2007 22:37 GMT12
I'm considering replacing my old 2.3MP digital camera, and I've narrowed
it down to two choices: the Fuji E900 or Canon A630 (or 640). Either would
be a big step up from my last camera, but I'm not sure which is better. I've
mainly used my current camera for photographing Ebay ...
least shutter lag in a P&S digital?25 Aug 2007 17:53 GMT7
Is there a digital point and shoot camera out there that has eliminated
shutter lag?   I now use a Nikon DSLR but would love to carry a shirt-pocket
camera around.
I would like (and am waiting for) one that has:
Cel-Phone Camera Focusing Question ?24 Aug 2007 20:45 GMT1
Was just curious about the built in camera in my new LG cel-hone.
Takes pretty good pix.
As you pan around with it, it seems to continually re-focus.
How does it do this ?
