Name brand "Panoramic" 50mm camera?14 Jul 2007 17:31 GMT2
I'm trying to identify this big piece of very shiny black plastic.
Yes, I already know that much.
It's a paper film camera, IOW not digital.
Looks like it has a really big plastic/glass/whatever lens piece
Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX14 Jul 2007 15:12 GMT7
Purchased a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG IF Aspherical Lens for my Canon
SLR (XTi) that is not performing as I would have expected.  Thinking I
might have received a bad copy.  Not sharp in all zoom ranges and
'hunts' for focus.  I have three other lens and I'm not seeing this type

One of the reasons I bought my Sony DSCH1 was that it used AA batteries.
So, I went out and bought a couple of packs and chargers.  THEN, I found out
that all chargers were not created equal, and so bought a "smart charger".
A Sony that works good, but the batteries that came ...
F56 focus problem13 Jul 2007 13:06 GMT1
If I press the shutter button to focus, the lens just runs from one extreme
to the other. Press it again - just comes back again till it stops at the
end.
First impressions would say the camera's just 'hunting' for something to fix
Always take your camera13 Jul 2007 06:21 GMT21
The other evening, my wife and I decided to take an ATV ride.  We live on
the edge of the wilderness, so taking a half hour ride at sunset is a common
thing.
We get up to the big hill behind the house, and a full moon is coming up.
Old Camera12 Jul 2007 19:02 GMT2
Found an old? 127 UERA Light Super camera while cleaning out some old
family  buildings. Camera is complete with leather case, 2 rolls of
Kodak film still in the original boxes and all in the original camera
cardboard box. I have been unable to find any information about this
"Sports" Polarizer12 Jul 2007 18:29 GMT18
Back in "the day", they used to make a special polarizer for sports
photography.  It was is NOT to be confused with the current circular
polarizer, but it was a filter with the actually polarization on the
filter was circular.  Therefore, you did not rotate it (because

Is there any way to hook up a camera to a tv screen or a computer monitor so
that you see what the LCD sees?  I've read through the directions on my Sony
DSCH1, and it appears not.  It does have video cables, but that is just for
looking at completed pictures.  I have seen these ...

correction11 Jul 2007 02:59 GMT4
I have a Sony DSC H1, and I am building a mount for it so that I can get
about a foot from feeding hummingbirds.  I need a shutter release cable that
is about a foot long.  The Sony does not have a pre drilled pre tapped
receptacle for the common shutter release cable.  So, I shall ...
D40x09 Jul 2007 13:26 GMT8
Anyone got one?  Ritz has them with the two Nikon lenses for $999, and I'm
wrestling with myself about going and getting one.
From what I read, they have a 10 mp instead of a 5, and have an ISO 100,
which is a little less than the 40.  It has two other minor differences
Negative developing09 Jul 2007 04:07 GMT16
I am just starting to get into the hobby of photography. I am
interested in developing my own color negatives. I was wondering what
was involved and whether I should even try, being a novice and all.
I've done some searches but can't find enough about color film, it all
Cleaning lenses using Optex lens pen09 Jul 2007 03:09 GMT6
I recently noticed a product called Optex digital lens pen at a camera
store. It contains a brush at one end and a tiny tip at the other end.
The tip appears to contain something with black colour residue. I
wonder what kind of chemical this is, and whether it has a benefit to
