Objections to a link to my site?25 Jun 2007 20:24 GMT10
Guys, I don't want to start a flame war, but would anyone mind me posting a
link to my new site?
It does give the option to buy my pictures, so I don't want to get loads of
spam accusations.
Super Telephoto question25 Jun 2007 13:22 GMT5
I was browsing around Canon's web site today looking for a lens for my
camera. Just being curious I looked at the "Super Telephoto" lenses. (not
for me) I see that they seem to be fixed focal length lenses. These lenses
look like the lenses I see at sporting events used by media ...
Leica lens on Panasonic subcompact - any good?25 Jun 2007 04:33 GMT114
Many years ago we saw Nikon rebrand Nikkormat lenses as Nikkor.  It
diluted some of the brand value of Nikon but in the end all was ok.
Now some Panasonic subcompact digital cameras have Leica lenses.  (I've
only just noticed but maybe they have done it for a long time.)
taking dig. pics of projected slides - Need tips24 Jun 2007 17:02 GMT7
I have hundreds of my wife's family pictures in slide carosells.
As probably 97% of them are nothing special, photograph wise, I thought
I'd try projecting them and taking a  digital photo of the projected
image. I've heard of this being quite adequate for most old pics but
Creative back drops?24 Jun 2007 11:57 GMT9
What are some of the more creative back drops you have used for
portrait work?  I actually like using fleece blankets...not that it is
all that creative, but they have a nice, soft feel.  Others??
USB control of the Rebel XT??24 Jun 2007 11:25 GMT12
I have a Canon Rebel XT and would like to learn how to control it remotely
via USB.
I would like to be able to write the programs myself so I am looking for a
reference of commands I can send to the camera over USB.
Photojournalists:  HDV frame grabs23 Jun 2007 18:09 GMT12
Looking for opinions on HDV frame grabs in photojournalism.  Is this
the death of 35mm stills in the "newsroom"?
It is per this article by David Leeson, Dallas Morning News Executive
Producer - Video and New Media (consider the source, I know, I know):
Advice : Model Portfolio with Makeup Artists21 Jun 2007 02:37 GMT1
I am starting to do Model Portfolios. I dropped off a few business
cards with a Makeup artist and she is sending a model along with a
makeup artist to me this weekend.
I have no experience working with Makeup artists - can anyone offer

My name is Andy and I was hoping you would like to advertise on my
http://www.photoclickspro.com hompage? I want nothing in return, but mearly
some more interested activity on the site to better promote my site and
therefore better promote yours. So... tell everyone you know ...
Lightroom: Library vs. Folders??18 Jun 2007 17:22 GMT3
I have imported about 100 images into Lightroom (thru memory cards).
The panel on left side of screen shows Library = 100 images and under
Folders = 100 images.
When I select Folders, I can view the 100 images.
Making a keyhole17 Jun 2007 14:30 GMT1
Oh the fun stuff you find on the net.
In this thread someone goes to the trouble
to visually explain how to make a keyhold effect
in photoshop.

Should make the anti-photoshoppers reflect a little.

Hi..any suggestions for a decent portable storage device? i am going to be
in an area without electricity for 3 weeks and need a decent storage
solution...I am looking to take around 200-300 RAW photos a day with my

Soliciting opinions on camera purchase17 Jun 2007 03:09 GMT9
Any suggestions for a good, cheap, 10-12x optical, 5-7MP, P&S, using
AA's for battery and SD for storage, and shows up as a removable drive
on W2K & higher instead of forcing you to install some crappy
software? Thanks much in advance.
Recommeded memory speed for supercompact?17 Jun 2007 00:56 GMT54
If I get a modern super-compact digital camera such as a mid-range Canon
IXUS (US: Canon Powershot) for general use then ...

I see "x133" mentioned a lot on memory adverts.  Is x133 fast, slow,
