Guys, I don't want to start a flame war, but would anyone mind me posting a link to my new site? It does give the option to buy my pictures, so I don't want to get loads of spam accusations.

| Super Telephoto question | 25 Jun 2007 13:22 GMT | 5 |
I was browsing around Canon's web site today looking for a lens for my camera. Just being curious I looked at the "Super Telephoto" lenses. (not for me) I see that they seem to be fixed focal length lenses. These lenses look like the lenses I see at sporting events used by media ...

| Leica lens on Panasonic subcompact - any good? | 25 Jun 2007 04:33 GMT | 114 |
Many years ago we saw Nikon rebrand Nikkormat lenses as Nikkor. It diluted some of the brand value of Nikon but in the end all was ok. Now some Panasonic subcompact digital cameras have Leica lenses. (I've only just noticed but maybe they have done it for a long time.)

| taking dig. pics of projected slides - Need tips | 24 Jun 2007 17:02 GMT | 7 |

What are some of the more creative back drops you have used for portrait work? I actually like using fleece blankets...not that it is all that creative, but they have a nice, soft feel. Others??

Looking for opinions on HDV frame grabs in photojournalism. Is this the death of 35mm stills in the "newsroom"? It is per this article by David Leeson, Dallas Morning News Executive Producer - Video and New Media (consider the source, I know, I know):

I have imported about 100 images into Lightroom (thru memory cards). The panel on left side of screen shows Library = 100 images and under Folders = 100 images. When I select Folders, I can view the 100 images.

Oh the fun stuff you find on the net. In this thread someone goes to the trouble to visually explain how to make a keyhold effect in photoshop.

| Soliciting opinions on camera purchase | 17 Jun 2007 03:09 GMT | 9 |
Any suggestions for a good, cheap, 10-12x optical, 5-7MP, P&S, using AA's for battery and SD for storage, and shows up as a removable drive on W2K & higher instead of forcing you to install some crappy software? Thanks much in advance.

| Recommeded memory speed for supercompact? | 17 Jun 2007 00:56 GMT | 54 |
If I get a modern super-compact digital camera such as a mid-range Canon IXUS (US: Canon Powershot) for general use then ... ... what minimum speed of SD memory should I get to avoid delays? I see "x133" mentioned a lot on memory adverts. Is x133 fast, slow,
