35mm transfer to CD14 May 2007 18:29 GMT14
I'm a digital beginner, still very attached to 35mm, but keen to be able to
use a PC to play with and mail snapshots.
Took a roll of 35mm print film to Jessops to develop, and asked for a CD of
the images as well. (£2.99 extra).
film resolution14 May 2007 17:41 GMT14
I'm sure this has been asked before and probably doesn't have a simple
answer but...
how many mega pixel would u need, if the sensor was full frame 36 x 24
mm, to get the same 'resolution' as a 100 ASA negative film.
Prints on stretched canvas14 May 2007 17:10 GMT10
I wanted to get a few prints put onto stretched framed canvas, as it's very
much the in-thing nowadays.
I checked around for prices, and it seems like I'm looking at about £40 each
for the size I want.

A couple of newbie questions13 May 2007 20:53 GMT38
Since I'm curious about photography, I'm thinking of buying a digital
camera.  Perhaps photographing nature will turn into a hobby; I'm not sure.
The idea just sounds interesting to me.  I have a couple of questions:
  1) Assuming I buy a camera of about £300, how much hard disc ...
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5 Ok or not13 May 2007 12:22 GMT2
This camera seemed to suit my needs for less than AU$500 and one can get a
dive case for it. Any comments is there something better for about the same
price. What I want is 6 megapixels or better 3X optical zoom and I quite
liked the ant shake feature ( don't know how well they ...

Photography holidays - recommendations please!12 May 2007 21:10 GMT7
I am new to this group, but I am a keen photographer, and I am
thinking about going on a specialist photography holiday, ideally
somewhere like Kenya, Tanzania,Uganda, India etc to photograph
wildlife.
old dog with Maxxum 9000 wants new love12 May 2007 19:54 GMT2
I want to do some reading.  I loved my Maxxum 9000 and bought lots of
accessories for it over the years.  I've also bought a few cheap digital
cameras which I hate.  The digital cameras have terribly slow shutter
speeds, and a terribly long latency on the capture.
Infra-red effect using Paint Shop Pro software (or Photoshop)12 May 2007 18:09 GMT1
Did anyone ever try on how make a regular landscape photo into a photo
similar to the use of infra red film ?  What is the tricks or step in
PSP to produce such effects?
Thanks for info
Canon Zoom Browser/ Exposure Bracket help needed..12 May 2007 16:04 GMT2
Hi, as a noob to DSLR, I was tinkering around with exposure bracketing and
it sounds great that the camera ( mine is a canon 400d/xti rebel) takes 3
pictures for you in the hope that one of them can get you the desired
exposure.
histograms11 May 2007 18:31 GMT8
I took some photos with my new Nikon D80 and I want to view the
histogram with software, not using the camera.  I have proshow gold
and Nikon picture picture project.  So far I've not found a way to
view the histogram with either of these, is it possible with some
