I know I'm new around here, but my D80 finally came yesterday and I
thought I would share some of my test images.  I have two Tamron lenses
with this kit, both are conventional.

Friends,
My photography business began to pick up this year so I decided that I
wanted to take the plunge and get Photoshop CS3 (been using Paint Shop and
Nikon PictureProject and other cheaper programs).  Since my PC was 6 years
Lens Comparison23 May 2007 08:00 GMT25
Hi, I have the opportunity to purchase a Sigma 70-300 DG f4-5.6 APO lens
from an online seller. I have a Canon 350D with the standard 75-300
zoom that came with it. Any opinions on whether the Sigma would be an
improvement over the Canon standard? Or would I just be buying the ...
Why are Digital camera images made wrong?22 May 2007 22:02 GMT16
Digital camera manufacturers provide images with a 2:3 proportion
yet no paper manufacturers produce paper with the same proportion
(with the exception of the 4x6 size prints)?
If Photo Paper is available in 4:5 proportions why aren't the camera

I just returned from a trip to Southern Utah canyon country.
I ordered and received prints from seven rolls of 35MM.
I also received seven CD disks with these pictures which I can view on my

Master Photographers - standing stones22 May 2007 11:53 GMT1
In preparing a project for a course that I am taking in photography I
need to write about a couple of "master" photographers that have
produced significant work on standing stones/megaliths. I have Paul
Caponigro covered, but need a couple of others as well.

How do you calibrate your monitor to assure that what you see is what you

My concern is eyeballing and tweaking my pictures and then giving them to
.KDC - kodak raw decoders verses dcraw and ufraw.21 May 2007 16:45 GMT2
Hi ~
I have a kodak camera, P 850.  (which I've outgrown).
Is the kodak software better than dcraw or ufraw to decode raw .KDC files?
Since I live with the penguins in linux-land, I have no idea of how the
Speedlight questions21 May 2007 11:50 GMT6
I recently bought the Canon XTi. Soon I am shooting most of the reception
for at my daughters wedding. (A pro is doing the wedding and first hour of
reception.)
The flash on the camera is obviously not going to do the job so I am
a program to lock an image21 May 2007 04:30 GMT37
I have a software that can lock an image or a series of images.
You can give your photos to anybody for presentation purposes. He
could see them but he couldn't save or edit your photos.
It's for sale.

HP camera dock20 May 2007 07:43 GMT4
A relative has bought an HP dock for his digital camera.  This allows
the photos to be viewed as a slide show on TV.  However the images are
only in black and white.  He thought this must be a fault and sent it
back.  The new one is just the same, on his TV and ours.  Surely this ...
