I like the super-compact digital cameras. For example the Canon Digital Elphs http://tinyurl.com/2zabkf ------- BUT ~ I do not like the varifocal zooms which many of them have.

A guy at the camera store recommended that I put a haze filter on both my telephoto, 50mm lenses, and leave them on. Is that a good thing to do or not? Thanks

I've been thinking about getting a camera to try and creat some good photos I can use in my artistic ventures , I'm esp interested in getting detailed macro or zoom in shots ( i.e. pimples on a flys a.s size ) if possible.

Experimenting with exposure I tried a 950nm Infrared Filter on a Nikon D80 Digital Camera Set at 400 ASA 35mm f2 lens set at f2 Exposed in bright sunlight approx. 10-15 seconds
