I am considering the Canon Powershot G7, but looking at this image, I'm in
some doubt as it looks quite soft to me.

Can anyone please suggest a really good software used for stitching
photos? I've used adobe's photomerge all this time, and frankly it
sucks.... something with more functions and controls.

I came across a neat little trick the other day for adding a
polarizing filter effect in Photoshop. You may already be familiar
with it. If so, no harm done. If not, you may find it very helpful.
