| Chicago USA photo ops and general big industrial city shooting | 15 Mar 2007 21:11 GMT | 7 |
(Hope I'm on the right forum. I know a lot of photogs here are in or have visited the US, so will understand what I'm after. Actually, the last part of this is applicable to shooting in any large industrial city worldwide, so possibly will be of general interest.)

| Canon S3IS | 14 Mar 2007 17:22 GMT | 6 |
I have always only owned a point and shoot camera but was after something a bit better without going to the expense of a DSLR. The canon s3is has had some pretty good reviews in the net, but are there any other comparable cameras I should also be looking at.

| How to Correct Perspective Distortion in Photoshop | 13 Mar 2007 23:33 GMT | 5 |
It seems there's never a week goes by that I don't get asked questions about falling buildings, leaning lamp posts, etc. - why does it happen and can it be put right? I thought the easiest way to answer both questions was to write an article and illustrate it with screen shots.

| Telephoto Lenses | 13 Mar 2007 20:23 GMT | 40 |
I've just had my telephoto lens delivered and went out to try it today. I must say, I'm a bit dissapointed. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I just can't seem to get a shot in focus with it fitted.

| WTB: Minolta 135mm f/2.8 [T4.5] STF | 13 Mar 2007 15:24 GMT | 3 |
Yeah, I know it's not a marketplace NG. At least I'm not selling. But in the off chance that someone, somewhere has this piece of sh.t, useless, crappy bokeh, camera bag ballast, I will consider taking it off your hands if it's in very good shape.

| Digital Projector | 13 Mar 2007 11:08 GMT | 5 |
I have looked everywhere, and I can't seem to locate a digital "slide" projector. A unit like the Kodak Carousel, but one could load memory cards into it. Computers are fine for personal viewing, but if you want to show a group your vacation slides, you still need to display

As per subject, can anyone recommend one? It's going to hold a Nikon D80 with a 125mm lens, on a SLR Zoom Gorillapod (arrived this morning....brilliant piece of kit) Needs to be compact and light as possible, as will be used when wandering

| headshot question | 12 Mar 2007 14:59 GMT | 2 |
When doing headshots it is custommary to put the subject's name in the lower-right corner. What is the best or correct font and size to use? I have tried almost every font and find that the edges are jagged even in the final print which is unacceptable.

| Background color affects image detail | 12 Mar 2007 09:01 GMT | 3 |
I have been experimenting with various fluorescent color temps and std 3200 incandescent photofloods. In using a white background, I found that I got NO detail no matter what light source I used. If I changed the white foamcore to a blue foamcore, the detail really came out.

| Filters | 12 Mar 2007 06:38 GMT | 1 |
I took a photograpy "class" a couple of years back and the guy doing it suggested getting some type of filter for your lens for two reasons that I believe I am remebering correctly. I believe he suggested getting a UV filter, the one I believe he showed us was just a clear ...
