Fuji FinePix S7000 safe to use w/Vivitar 285 HV Zoom Thristor?26 Jan 2007 04:18 GMT2
Howdy y'all.
I just recently purchased a Fujifilm FixPix S7000.  I already owned
the Vivitar 285 HV Zoom Thyristor, and I was wondering if someone
could help me determine if it is safe to use this flash with the

When I try to take pictures of jewellery in a white tent and a 'Day light'

I was advised that it has to do with 'metering'

Superimposing & manipulating digital images?24 Jan 2007 17:26 GMT6
To any and all Digital Photography Experts
When I have posted messages to Google Groups in the past, 99% of the
time I get one of two responses - either people making jokes, or
people posting abusive replies. I am not interested in either of these.

Nikon D70 for night photography24 Jan 2007 11:14 GMT2
Adjusting the D70 to 1600 ASA makes it great for night photography.  I
recently took the D70 on a photo shoot at night and found it excellent
with color saturation increased and ASA set to 1600.  Also there are a
number of helpful web sites which discuss changing the default factory
Why does olive look red instead of green?24 Jan 2007 11:08 GMT38
I was trying out my flash and was just shooting anything in the kitchen.
When I looked at the pictures the olive oil (which is green) was red, I
thought I was seeing things so I checked the bottle, it is definitely green.
Somebody else try it, maybe it's my camera, or maybe I AM ...
External flash24 Jan 2007 04:01 GMT3
I have a Canon Rebel XT camera and a Sunpak 5000AF flash. I have good
results by mounting the Sunpak flash on the camera shoe. I've also been able
to move the Sunpak flash off-camera and in, it's manual mode, trigger the
Sunpak flash from the on-camera flash, I'd like to be able to ...

JPEG compression = loss can be avoided?21 Jan 2007 23:25 GMT49
My impression is that JPEGs lose between 40 and 60% measured in KBs.
Is there a way to avoid that loss?  Should pictures maybe be kept as
GIF or bitmaps?
The loss seems to occur if I make a minor change in a photo and save it.
