black and white contrast filters08 Dec 2006 00:39 GMT8
I'm looking to buy some black and white contrast filters, probably B+W
brand since people say htey are good. I had some cokins that I got
recently, but I didn't like the whole that cheap filter holder system,
so I returned it. I'm having trouble deciding which colors I need since ...
Tamron vs. Nikon lenses07 Dec 2006 15:54 GMT20
Sorry for the noob question.
Can someone tell me their opinion on how the Tamron lenses compare next
to the Nikon lenses?
I'm interested specifically in the Tamron 11-18 vs. the Nikon 12-24
sharpen-filter abuse07 Dec 2006 14:45 GMT3
It doesn't seem a malady here as much as elsewhere on the web, but I've
noticed semi-pro and pro photographers making a massive overuse of the
sharpen filter in recent months. Sure, it can be a handy tool to add
pop to an image, but it seems like it's turned into the latest in a
Organizing 10,000's of images?07 Dec 2006 14:45 GMT30
How are you organizing your image collection?  I'm looking for a simple
approach that'll outlast a photo prganizer program.
I've seen suggestions to use a folder for each batch - what structure
works for you (or didn't)?  Year/Date, Year/Event, or maybe both, or ...?

Nikon D40!! I Got it Today!!!07 Dec 2006 00:11 GMT1
It's a nice little camera! Great Pics!!, my only concern is that there is no
LCD protector like my old D70, I wonder if it has a zaphire crystal to
protect it from scratches or debry.
I need a slave ...........06 Dec 2006 21:21 GMT1
I have a Sony DSC H1, which I want to place very close to the hummingbird
feeder.  But I need some sort of slave device to punch the button.
Does Sony make such a device?  Will I have to make one out of baling wire
and rubber bands?  Actually, I can get a manual cable and housing ...

I currently own a Sony DSC H1.  I am learning how to use it in the various
modes.  But, the quality of the pictures I am getting are just not great.  I
don't know if I am getting the lighting and focus right, or if it is the
equipment.
