How are you organizing your image collection? I'm looking for a simple approach that'll outlast a photo prganizer program. I've seen suggestions to use a folder for each batch - what structure works for you (or didn't)? Year/Date, Year/Event, or maybe both, or ...?

I currently own a Sony DSC H1. I am learning how to use it in the various modes. But, the quality of the pictures I am getting are just not great. I don't know if I am getting the lighting and focus right, or if it is the equipment.
