Dang It............12 Dec 2006 02:01 GMT1
I was just at the camera store where we bought a camera for my wife.  A $130
camera cost us $450 by the time she got through with all the extras that

New Camera For Wife10 Dec 2006 23:10 GMT10
My wife wants a new film 35mm camera.
The digitals are getting better but the pictures from ink jet printers
etc still aren't as good as film and they won't last but a couple of few
decades. Storing them on cds won't last either including the new blue rays.

Is there a formula I can use to use a lux meter reading to figure out
fstops OR shutter speed? If there is please give me a link or web page
I can read up on.
Or do I have the wrong type of meter entirely?

Glasses: On or Off,..?09 Dec 2006 15:50 GMT15
Just got glasses; they're bifocals. Just got back into taking
pictures. I use a Pentax K1000 SLR. It doesn't look like I can get all
the way up to the view finder with glasses on. If I take them off I'll
be focussing with uncorrected vision. Do you use the reading part or

that I might want to get, and doing a lot of reading about the various

I have four rolls of 8mm film.  These rolls are about 25 years old and they are films of the kids when little.  Can they be transferred to other media, DVD for example?  Also, what is it likely to cost?  Each roll is 400 feet long.  I'm in UK and would appreciate any links to ...
