Konica and Minolta are now part of Sony ? What about Yashica?27 Nov 2006 21:55 GMT3
I have not been paying much attention on the photo industry in the past
10-20 years. Suddenly, I just feel like waking up from my sleep, and
find out that the world has changed!
I feel rather sad to remember the transformation of good Japanese

Best mini digital camera : Nikon coolpix S9, Canon SD400, Pentax S727 Nov 2006 15:36 GMT39
Could anyone comments about mini digital camera, such as Nikon Coolpix
S9, Canon SD400, Pentax S7, Casio Exilim EX-S600, etc?
I like to have a good quality, durable and strong camera that I can put
in my pocket. Unfortunately, Sony, Fuji, Olympus are out of the

I haven't taken any pictures in a while, but I used to take a lot of
35mm photos.  I don't know the first thing about digital photography.
Leica help26 Nov 2006 17:40 GMT1
I'm thinking of getting a Leica C-Lux 1 to carry with me for every day type
shots, is this a good camera for that? Any help is appreciated...I did look
at the Panasonic digi-cam's but I guess I'm a little snobby and want that
little red dot.....
looking for a digital SLR25 Nov 2006 20:05 GMT11
I'm interested in a digital camera to replace my old 35mm Sears K-2 SLR.
The K-2 didn't have a lot of automatic stuff.  A built-in light meter
and automatic exposure was about it (and I could also control the
exposure manually of course).  Focusing was manual, F-stops were
Upgrading form D50 to D8025 Nov 2006 15:42 GMT16
I am a rank amateur, learning to deal with dSLR, and bought a Nikon D50 4
months ago, and I love it. I have had a little bonus, and am now considering
upgrading to the D80. Had a little play with it in a shop, it feels great,
with the 18-70mm lense on.
Photography book?25 Nov 2006 06:05 GMT43
So, I'm already having to think about my Christmas Want List. Ugh!
I'm planning on buying a new dSLR for the wifey and me. We're
'beginners' at real photography, so we don't need anything as advanced
as the Nikon D200, yet. I'm leaning toward either the Nikon D50 or
excessive noise24 Nov 2006 11:23 GMT4
You guys have helped me in the past, for which I am ever grateful. I
was doing a wedding shoot this weekend and was forced to set an ISO of
800 on my Nikon D200 for the actual ceremony. I forgot to reset to ISO
100 for the traditonal signing the register shots and the results are
Good photo printer23 Nov 2006 21:45 GMT9
Can someone recommend a good photo printer please.
The only issues important to me are photo quality and photo longevity.
I'm not concerned about print speed, the ability to print direct from memory
cards, touch screens, etc.

online digital photo labs--recomendations?23 Nov 2006 18:37 GMT4
I am seeking a quality online photo developing lab for my digital images at
reasonable prices--for example, the prices at Mpix are just fine. Mpix does
a decent job, sharpness-wise, and the print size choices are excellent
(6x9, 12x18, and all the others which have the required ...

Nigel:
I was browsing through your gallery and liked what I saw, except for one
shot. Its not that I don't think its good, I just don't know why it is.
