Scanning old photos22 Jul 2006 03:13 GMT2
Does anyone know how I can make or find a negative carrier that will fit 6 x
5 cm negatives?  I have an Epson Perfection 3200 photo scanner.  The
negatives are from photos my father took during WWII.  Thanks

On DIMi I have started a new column when I acknowledge great websites
with great photography and/or art on them. I was going to do this once a

Slave Flash -- Odd Results19 Jul 2006 21:19 GMT3
I'd appreciate any info or suggestions about the correct use of a "slave"
flash with a digital camera.
I have a Canon A620, which does NOT have a shoe mount for an external flash.
I also have a Vivitar Zoom Thyrister 2500 flash, shoed to a slave sensor and

Digital Versus Film19 Jul 2006 12:54 GMT26
Howdy, I have been a film photographer for most of my life. I now think
digital has surpassed film. It has only taken me a year with my Fuji
FinePix S7000 to realise how much fun I can have eliminating the film

Nikon Lenses19 Jul 2006 00:49 GMT4
I've been shopping for Nikon lenses to go along with a D50, but I'd
like to get your opinions before I buy it.
After speaking with several salesmen, here are the answers that I've
gotten that are consistant. Of course, they might have just gotten the

The Need For Speed17 Jul 2006 15:24 GMT3
If you think all memory cards are the same (other than storage size)
and that it doesn't matter which one you buy you'd be wrong! These

different transfer speeds which you should carefully consider before
Mozart's widow photo a fake?17 Jul 2006 11:17 GMT2
An earlier thread in this newsgroup discussed a seemingly historical
photo depicting Constanze Mozart, the composer's widow, in advanced old
age. According to Mozart scholars, this photo is a hoax, as described
in this story.

Low light venues15 Jul 2006 16:06 GMT7
I'm very new to SLR photography but have recently purchased a D50.  My son
plays in a rock band and I like to get some good pics of his group.  The
