I am in the UK and I have a minature tripod for a 35mm camera.
I want to attach something else to the tripod using the threaded bolt on
the tripod which normally goes into the body of the camera.
That bolt is about 1/4inch across and I have read that it has 20 threads

I've been making placques out of medium density fiberboard for a local
crafter (her design and specs).  She then paints them and decoupages a photo
onto them.  I remember some 30 yrs or so ago, decoupaging a  photo onto a
wood placque and having it turn yellow in a short period ...

I was having a look around when I stumbled across these beauties -- how
did the photographer, who must be, quite frankly, a genius, achieve
such stunning results? I wish I were as clever as him/her. Now I bet
