2 questions.
1.  Can someone please give me an easy explanation of fstop.
Everywhere I look, i get some complex answer to this and leaves me
clueless.

I just got a Sigma 105mm macro lens, and it's pretty hard to take good
macro's. Today was kinda cool, cause I caught a black widow in our

Why is that in some MODES with the D200 I get black pictures ? and then if I
take the picture wih flash it shows it ? Sometimes I get like the top half
picture BLACK ?

Hi all, need help with this desperately.  I have a Vivitar Lens 28-210mm
f3.5-f5.6 Macro 1:4x 72mm accessory size,  my dad left me from 1989.
Serial # 09735757, it says 072mm Universal.  Also there is a U near the
aperture ring.

This is my first post, so please be kind. I'm seriously thinking of
getting a Nikon D50 digital SLR camera to replace my old Nikon film
camera (N90S). Since I'm on a fixed income, I want to keep the costs as
low as possible so I want to try to keep and use as many of my old

I've recently start to shoot in .RAW mode on my Canon 20D. Can anyone tell
me what the .XMP files are that are also appearing when I download from my
card.

Does anyone know what the best way is to remove red eyes in photoshop ? I've
been trying to do it with the curves, and make the selection darker, but it
still looks fake.

good for what lenses.

I'm looking for a new color film. I shoot medium format and the last
film I shot was pretty grainy. I like saturated color and good shadow
detail and of course, fine grain. Any suggestions?
