I am after a number of volunteers to open up galleries on my site. The
catch? There is no catch. I am basically testing out new software I
have written. The idea is to create a place where photographers can
upload images, create a portfolio without needing a) to pay anyone any

Newbie Question about F Stops and Apertures15 Jan 2006 15:25 GMT14
I'm still trying to figure out what this means and how to set it.  If I'm
shooting pix at night, with little background light, what do I do?  Does the
camera have to be set on the manual setting or auto?  Then what?  Sorry, but
i'm totally confused.  thank you

If I wanted to print something like an 8x10 for some Spanish friends,
what size would I need to print them at so that they could buy a frame for
it?
Sensor clean?15 Jan 2006 01:49 GMT5
I have noticed on small apertures small specs appear in my pictures, im
using a DSLR and have tested several lenses on it, and concluded the specs
must be on the sensor. I have tried using a pipette to blow away any debit,
and used a VERY fine brush to try cleaning it. ...
Nikon flange lubricant14 Jan 2006 23:07 GMT2
I recently purchsed some Nikon extension tubes, the PK-11A and the  PK-13,
to use with my D100 body.  When connecting those tubes to the camera it

damage the flange on the camera due to the tight fit.  ...

have a decent digital camera (Pentax Optio 555 - 5MP). I chose it because it
has a good selection of manual features (like an SLR).
It seems limited in the focal-range department though. I can set Aperture

My wife and I have been point and shoot photographers for years,
you know the type a compact digital camera taking a million
pics of the kids. We have just brought a canon EOS 350 D, and to
be honest are baffled by the science.
Instant Digital Photo Processing Machines12 Jan 2006 11:31 GMT3
I have been printing my digital pictures at a local drugstore on a
Sony PhotoCenter unit.  I have been quite pleased with the results but
lately the unit has been acting up and going down.  It has one feature
that is essential for me:  the ability to zoom down in size my entire
