EOS 10D to Nikon D70 - An upgrade?20 Jan 2006 13:32 GMT8
I own a Canon EOS 10D and love it to bits, but I have the urge to try a
Nikon DSLR for a change. Would going from the EOS 10D to the Nikon D70 be
regarded as un upgrade of any kind? Considering that the 10D is older than
the D70, that is. I feel I've gotten into a 'rut' lately ...
Developing B&W film20 Jan 2006 12:32 GMT8
I live in the UK, and am currently using Ilford HP5 black & white film
on my SLR.  It's lovely film and takes great pictures, but the
development costs are crazy - £10 a film in Boots!  And it takes 12
days to process!
Flash Diffusion?20 Jan 2006 09:55 GMT13
I guess shooting 35mm got me spoiled, because I had a nice bounce flash. My
Fuji S5100 has a pop-up flash with no shoe for another. The flash shots I'm
getting are washed out. What I need is a good flash diffuser that will mute
that effect from a small light source. Long term, I ...

Does anyone know of any stock photo companies that will buy pictures
from you, but aren't out to rip you off?
Buying Canon lens: How to confirm serial number???19 Jan 2006 06:09 GMT6
[Warning that this is a cross-post - BTW: I heard it's marginally ok to
cross-post if you mention it??? And I want local & international
feedback]. Apologies if that's wrong. Live and learn!
Does anyone know how to confirm a serial number of a lens? I'm being

Butterfly photo  Macro lens or TeleZoom ?19 Jan 2006 00:01 GMT4
I planned to buy a new lens for my new Canon Rebel XT (I had a Canon AE1
with a Vivitar 70-210 mm macro which is not a real macro).
I considered two options : A macro lens and a telezoom.
I would like to photography medium sized to small butterflies at a working

infringement rights18 Jan 2006 19:22 GMT4
I recently took some photographs of my son and his football team whilst they
were competing in a soccer tournament, with permission from the Manager and
players involved. Wherupon I was promptly warned that if I took any more
Photo's then I would be ejected from the grounds as I ...
Epson Printer stats18 Jan 2006 18:27 GMT2
I need some stats on a couple of Epson printers namely the R320 and the
R2400. In particular I need to know what it will cost per print to print
from each of those and I need it rather urgently, any body know where I can
get those stats or is there anybody out there using those and ...
What lens should I get next for my Digital Rebel?18 Jan 2006 16:46 GMT9
I of course have the 18-55mm lends that came with the kit, and have also
picked up a 50mm f1.8/II lens that I'm quite happy with.
Is there a zoom lens under $500 that gives better results than the
default lens? Should I give up home for a lens under the above price
Help required - frame painting18 Jan 2006 13:10 GMT3
Frame painting - I have tried to find a more appropriate newsgroup but
without success.  Although I can make my own wooden frames for speed  and
cost I have been guilty of buying dark brown "wood finished and gilt"
plastic  frames in most sizes up to 16 x12.   Now I can't stand ...
photographic logs17 Jan 2006 11:40 GMT2
Hello, I just joined the group. I live in southern Chile and I'd like
to travel and visit new places. As this is not practical ( mainly
expenses), I thought to start a photographic essay from as many places
possibles around the world.
Avoid the Canon Powershot A620 digital camera16 Jan 2006 19:16 GMT26
I want to tell you about a serious flaw in the
Canon Powershot A620, which required that I return
my A620. I assumed it was just a defect in my camera alone,
but in searching Usenet I have discovered that others
