Canon EOS 20D Autofocus - Serious Problem?13 Dec 2005 03:09 GMT46
I spent ~$2000 on an EOS 20D and 17-85 IS USM lens in June of this
year.  So far it's been back to the factory for repair twice.
The first time was for flash exposure problems, which were fixed,
and severe back-focus, which was not fixed.  I sent it back in and

Nikon raw image sizes12 Dec 2005 14:26 GMT7
I have a question about Nikon raw image sizes.  I have a D100 and when I use
raw/uncompressed mode the image files come out to about 5 MBytes.  So that
makes sense, i.e. 8 bits times 5 or so megapixels.  However the sizes
actually vary from about 4.3 MBytes to abouit 5.3 MBytes.  ...
watermark question12 Dec 2005 10:21 GMT3
Is it possible to watermark an image in such a way that it is invisible
in on-screen viewing yet will show up  in printing?  I'm new to the
concept of image marking, obviously.  bill
"Stale" rechargeable Batteries12 Dec 2005 01:16 GMT6
I have not been not using my camera lately and before I laid off, had
quite a few sets of charged HiMH batteries.   After nearly two months,
I can't believe they have much charge left in them.
My question:  what do I do?  Should I use them up, maybe go out and
Sharpness with my new camera11 Dec 2005 22:40 GMT69
After checking Consumer Reports ratings, and then studying Amazon
customer reviews, I bought a Koday CX7530 refurb 5 megapixel from their
website for <$200.  It is a point and shoot.  After shooting about 200
photos, I'm not sure if I like it.

the best Digital SLR?11 Dec 2005 09:48 GMT8
I'm looking into going digital with the rest of the world.  I plan on
spending a good amount of cash on a digital SLR camera.  Which is the
best option to go with?  I had in mind either Canon or Nikon.  I've
used the canon 10d so I'm a little more biased towards the 20d.

Lens problem(?)10 Dec 2005 02:17 GMT2
I use a Canon FTb with a 50mm FD lens. I just recently noticed that when
I change the fstop, I cannot see the aperture inside the lens changing
in size unless I have the camera in stopped-down metering mode. Is this
a problem with my camera/lens, or is it a normal function?
