Temperature question20 Dec 2005 05:06 GMT6
I have a Nikon D70 and a handful of pretty standard lenses.
I'm going to Finland for Christmas, so was wondering what temperatures the
camera and lenses will be okay in?
We'll be in the south of the country, and right now the temp is around 5 -15
QUESTION: Small vs wide aperture shots in low light20 Dec 2005 04:39 GMT55
Hi, all.
I'm headed to Carlsbad, New Mexico next weekend, to wander through the
Caverns for a couple of days. I have been there once before. The light
in there was pretty low, overall. I'd compare the lighting with a
Plastic or Steel ?20 Dec 2005 02:56 GMT1
Shooting slides and scanning ? And providing yourself with one-hour E6 kit

But a plastic tank or a stainless steel tank ?
Well with the inexpensive and generic stainless steel tanks and reels, push
Old large negatives, what antique camera was used?19 Dec 2005 23:18 GMT3
I have several hundred old negatives shot by my grandfather between about
1920 and 1960. The size of the exposure is about 21/2 inches wide x 4 1/4
inches high. I rented a Nikon Coolscan 8000 but they were too large to scan
the entire exposure in that machine. Many are of historical ...
S.E.A.L.S.19 Dec 2005 17:02 GMT1
They call themselves S.E.A.L.S. (a duth acronym for Militant Ecological
Anarchist Human Shield). They are a group of activists who want to break
through police lines during demonstrations and actions, armed with shields
and helmets. This way they want to provoke police violence and ...

Info on Memory Cards?19 Dec 2005 04:36 GMT11
I just bought a Nikon D-50.  One salesman swore on the Lexar memory card,
while another said the Panasonic was faster and $10 cheaper.  Does anyone
know if there is that much of a difference between brands and what would be
your recommendation?  thanks
Tricky shot of an old church18 Dec 2005 20:24 GMT142
We have a wonderful old church in town, but it is situated in a spot
that make getting a good photo hard.
Today I got one that I am pretty happy with.
This is the view of the church from across the street, as you can see
Moire18 Dec 2005 17:20 GMT4
I have just tried out my Nikon Coolpix 8800 for the first time and saw that
straight edges in  pictures were superimposed with a tiny jagged sawtooth
pattern - due to the Moire effect I understand.
I wonder if anyone has a clever way of dealing with this effect. My

online photo lab that precuts wallets?17 Dec 2005 22:20 GMT2
I'd like to have my daughter's senior pictures, that my niece took, printed
with the wallets coming out like other professional ones do. I can't find an
online company that prints wallets that are precut, and corners curved.
They all seem to come 4 or more to a page.   I don't ...
Nikon EM meter17 Dec 2005 13:45 GMT1
The meter on my old EM used to be active after you
wind the film and ready to shoot.
After my old one was stolen I picked up a used one. On
this one the meter is active before you wind the film. So when you are ready
