External strobe lighting with Canon Rebel XT question23 Dec 2005 07:37 GMT4
I have a Canon Rebel XT digital camera.  I am wanting to use it with some
external strobe flashes that I have (not Canon brand).   All the pictures I
take are not correctly exposed.  The strobes are trigged by the built-in
flash but the exposures are always off.   I think I need to ...
Overexposure on 350D23 Dec 2005 01:38 GMT2
I've have my XT for about 2 months now. I find that the camera is pretty
sensitive to daylight. Most of my day pictures are somewhat over exposed.
I've helped it out by changing the metering to center frame metering. But I
think the camera is still tricked about 25% of the time.
MagicStor Plus 2.2GB Microdrive?23 Dec 2005 00:24 GMT18
This Microdrive seems to be getting discounted as low as
$65 in some places, so it sparked my interest what with
my Nikon accepting these drives. I'm curious if anyone
has had any bad experiences with MagicStor drives

it I need to recover.
I've tried the Image Rescue 2.0 software and the only files recovered
are the jpeg preview files, the actual RAW photos aren't coming back?!
Software to pull off camera data22 Dec 2005 16:54 GMT2
Is there any free/shareware software that can pull off the camera data and
other data from jpegs and put it into a flat file, such as in comma separted
format?  Bonus points for tiffs and raw formats...  I'm talking about a
program that can be run in batch mode against a number ...

Seriously tough question21 Dec 2005 09:51 GMT18
Took a picture with a Canon 20D.  The aircraft body that I photographed has
manufactured dimensions of 98 feet, 10.75 inches wide (side view).  With
the camera set to max resolution 3504x2336 pixels (about 8.2 mp), using a
zoom telephoto set to 300MM, the aircraft body takes up ...
Q: good flatbed scanner for photos? (USB, Win XP)21 Dec 2005 06:13 GMT16
I am looking for a good USB or USB2 flatbed scanner under $150 ($200
max) range that works with Win Xp, with solid tech support. This would
be mainly used for 35mm photos, slides, and negatives. I also have some
other format prints/slides/negatives (110, medium format, 8x10 etc).
35mm film reloading21 Dec 2005 06:06 GMT3
After 10 years of fiddling with cheap digital cameras (coolpix9**), I'm
going back to digitizing bulk film.
Got all the stuff to do it with, but need reusable 35mm 'cans'. The current
breed of them cannot be re-sealed.
