| Questions on fisheye lense, and step-up rings | 17 Oct 2005 14:07 GMT | 7 |
I'm sort of new to photography, and I finally got my hands on an awesome 180degree fisheye lense by Kenko. Unfortunately it seems the official kenko adapter that came with it is for 55mm, and my Canon S2 IS camera has a 52mm mount. I purchased a 52-55 ring and it works, but

| This would be good | 17 Oct 2005 00:59 GMT | 4 |
My camera has a tiny little display on the back that is shamed by point and shoot cameras costing a tenth of the price. What would be good is if someone out there could invent an accessory viewfinder display (large) that connects to the firewire connection either by cable or ...

| Pre-purchase questions on Panasonic FZ-30 reliability and add-on lenses | 16 Oct 2005 16:30 GMT | 2 |
I'm just about ready to order an FZ-30; unfortunately none of the local "big box" shops carry it, and the only real cameras store around here doesn't carry any Panasonic gear. So I'll probably buy online (I already have a vendor selected) after I get just a little more info...

| Light metering, grey card. | 16 Oct 2005 05:31 GMT | 15 |
I'd like to check my understanding of a couple of things related to exposure, stops, reflectance..... 1. Would I be right in saying that a pure white flat surface will reflect 100% of the incident light falling on it? In which case, spot metering

| RAW is WAR | 16 Oct 2005 04:24 GMT | 88 |
I noticed that when I shot some pictures in the RAW/Adobe RGB format on a 1DS, and then converted them to sRGB, they are flat and colourless prints (photographic process), whereas when I shoot in sRGB jpeg, the prints are much more natural and punchy. Any ideas why?

Just after other opinions to get a balanced view on the new-ish minolta digital 18-70mm lens that comes with the 5D (I am buying the 7D this week). Apparently it is a little on the soft side. Does anyone have any comments on this and why it may not be a great idea to get it or is ...

| Results: High resolution stamp photography | 15 Oct 2005 01:17 GMT | 18 |
Awhile back I posted a comment indicating that I was planning to take pictures of stamps and mount them, along with the original, as a form of art. I thought I would follow up with the results of my work. I wanted to get as high a resolution as possible within reason. I used a
