| printing accurate colors | 28 Oct 2005 10:32 GMT | 2 |
I give up. I'm going through a lot of paper and color ink on my HP Deskjet 5150 trying to tweak the colors of prints. They aren't photographs, but scans of old envelopes. No matter what I do in the way of altering brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and color balance, I

| Canon camera and service. | 28 Oct 2005 06:52 GMT | 5 |
Dear colleagues: Last week I purchased a Canon EOS 1Ds Mk II. I usually purchase my photo equipment from BH Photo in NY and have come to rely on the equipment I always receive from them since they maintain a huge inventory.

| Steve Kramer and his Testimonials | 28 Oct 2005 06:42 GMT | 6 |
Most of the posters on this group probably know by now that Steve 'Kombat' Kramer is a spammer, always on the lookout to 'promote' himself and his business. And you probably know that being a conceited little man with an *enormous* ego, he also loves to blow his horn!

| Photo Adventure Block | 27 Oct 2005 21:49 GMT | 2 |
At least every other weekend my girlfriend and I go on a "photo adventure". This week I'm supposed to come up with the ideas. But I'm totally blocked - can't think of a thing. We live in Clearwater Beach, Florida and don't mind up to a 2 hour road trip.

| non-novice online film processing | 27 Oct 2005 20:31 GMT | 1 |
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on which online service is the best (cheapest/most reliable) to use for developing film. I've tried the consumer usuals - Snapfish, Walmart and a couple of others. So, the question is:

| A Bird in the Hand | 27 Oct 2005 19:44 GMT | 47 |
Shot this yesterday early evening. I was just walking from one spot to another and caught this from the corner of my eye. No time to set up the tripod so its handheld. Came out better then I expected. http://www.pbase.com/rkircher/image/51212982

| How do I choose a film scanner? | 26 Oct 2005 19:43 GMT | 7 |
I've decided to scan my thousands of 35mm negatives and slides. The largest they will usually be be is 640x480, occasionally 800x600. if they do get printed, the largest I print is 8x10. Now, how do I choose a scanner? Obviously it should be USB 2.0 due to

| Best way to sell photos on the Internet | 26 Oct 2005 17:56 GMT | 5 |
I am looking for the best way to sell photos on the Internet. Perhaps a company that will print, package and mail requested photos that I upload to his website. I am looking for some experiences from this newsgroup. Thanks, Dick Ross

| best to resample jpegs to 50% or 25% of original? | 26 Oct 2005 06:05 GMT | 6 |
I read in a post that if a jpeg is to be downsampled then it is better to downsampled by 50% or 25%. It seems this is something to do with not disturbing 8x8 block DCT boundaries in the jpeg. I don't understand this level of detail

| Looking for a photographer's name | 25 Oct 2005 20:58 GMT | 1 |
I'm looking for the name of a photographer who has photographed 'perfect' looking fruits and vegetables, a single piece per picture, in very vibrant colors and against an evenly colored, almost contrasting background. I think the pictures where square and I saw
