Could someone please tell me why DSLR's are better (or not) than a non DSLR?

I noticed that many bare metal items that I photograph with my Fuji
digital camera, look rustier on photos than they do in "real life". I
would like to correct it so that the photos show exactly as much rust
as would be seen by a naked eye. Any thoughts on this? Should Ichange

lokking to know which makes better looking prints the canon i9900 or the
epson r1800. I have another printer for printing on paper and cd's/
dvd's, so i'm looking for a high quality printer in the 400-600 price
range.

Is there any good way to photograph a waterfall so that it actually
looks like a waterfall, instead of a "blob of white"

Im looking at doing a Photography course (home learning) in the UK, has
anyone got any recommendations on this. I wouldn't mind starting off on a
City and Guilds certificate and working up.

I've added another 43 images bringing the total up to about 2260 on my
