Kodak leads US digital camera market17 Aug 2005 13:20 GMT2
I'm a bit surprised - I would have thought it would be Canon, Nikon or
perhaps Sony.  Instead, Kodak leads (23.8%) with Canon just behind
(21.9%), while Nikon places way down the list (only 4.5% - yikes!).
They estimate sales of 26 million digital cameras this year.
Dirty focusing screen16 Aug 2005 23:16 GMT1
The screen on my EOS 3 fell out and was attacked by the kids. I have
soft brushed and air blasted it but it seems stained. Can I wash it?
Lense for the digital rebel16 Aug 2005 06:44 GMT6
I recently bought the Digital Rebel and want to take some Depth of
Field picturs.  I'd like to know if anyone can recommend an affordable
large aperature lense to fit my rebel.  I am looking at the "Canon 50mm
f/1.8 II" but I'm not sure if it will fit my rebel.
Camera mounted slide copier vs flat bed scanner15 Aug 2005 21:59 GMT1
Want to digitize the family slide collection. Generally the exercise is
to archive a family pictoral history, but there may be occasional shots
which I would want to convert into high quality prints.  Not confident
as to which type of equipment best meets my needs, recovered image
How to take apart a manfrotto monopod?15 Aug 2005 16:22 GMT1
I have a Manfrotto monopod (possibly a Gruppo 434) and the spring at the
top which pushes the camera screw out has got jammed.
About an inch from the top, under the foam covering, there is a thin
metal pole which I've already removed but I still can't get the top off.
Film scanner vs flatbed scanner. Which to buy ?15 Aug 2005 15:35 GMT7
I'm currently looking for a scanner for my negatives. I do not plan to spend
a lot of money on this, though. On B&H I see for instance
Canon CanoScan 8400F, 3200 x 6400 dpi, Letter Size, Flatbed Scanner at ~140$

I'm getting a grid on my digital pix15 Aug 2005 10:07 GMT5
This is just an example but I have very many.

I have no idea where it comes from or why.  As a matter of fact I've seen
this on pix taken from two different cameras.  This one was taken with a
Fiji S2 Pro Digital SLR15 Aug 2005 05:48 GMT4
I have a Fuji S2 Pro and a couple of lenses I would like to sell off to fund
a new model.
I dont have ebay account ..or the desire to start one... seems to be to many
scams to cope with and "newbies" are not trusted -so I am told!

Lense Suggestion14 Aug 2005 14:36 GMT10
I take a lot of pictures and rarely use flash. Hate it. I have no problems
using a tripod. It's just that many places I go don't allow them. It was my
intent to purchase the Canon 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM. A couple different store
owners said that the image stabilization is good for ...

...at least at one "local shop".  More food for thought:

I wonder how one recent poster's "local shop" is escaping the rest of
the real world?  I want that secret.  ;)
