thanks, everyone14 Jul 2005 08:14 GMT15
I posted a request for information.  Not one reply.  In the same time, a
flame war consumed a quarter of the newsgroup.
So, thanks for taking the time to help a newbie with a simple question.  You
can all now go back to your elitist newsgroup.  And fighting with each
Raw files are a waste of time14 Jul 2005 07:09 GMT31
I have concluded that RAW files are a great way to kill time, a bit like
using a hair dryer to make toast. I used to set my camera to simultaneously
create RAW and JPG files but I think that using RAW too much like using a
safety net and have since switched to JPG only. This has ...

Wedding Black & White13 Jul 2005 18:47 GMT13
A fellow firefighter has hired me to shot his wedding.  He will have an
antique fire engine there and wants me to shot at least a 36 exposure roll
of B&W.  I tried to show him what I could do with digital conversion (I shot
with a Nikon D-100) in PhotoShop, but he insists on film.
A Shiny Black 1949 Cadillac13 Jul 2005 18:39 GMT4
I have been going through more of my father's old 35mm transparencies
and scanning them into my computer.  Here's a picture his 1949 Cadillac:

Hoya Circ Polarising Filter13 Jul 2005 10:15 GMT4
Hi want to buy a Hoya Circ Polarising Filter. I have searched high and low
for information on Hoya filters and have not found much.
What I want to know is what is the difference between the Green packing and
the Blue packaging?  I have only seen the Green packaging on ebay. Is it
Good bye everyone. Not a rant, well, not a big rant.13 Jul 2005 06:55 GMT28
There is just too much flaming here. It upsets me to see others get flame, I
am ashamed of myself finding myself flaming others in response and with
folks like Owamanga who say extremely cruel things and then turn around and
say they were only playing, I am reminded of a bull in ...

Gay Pride Madrid13 Jul 2005 03:56 GMT1
Last week, I was in Madrid for the PHOTOESPANA, a photo festival with
dozens of exposition when, by chance, I came across the gay pride. The
Spanish governement just approved the wedding of same-sex people. It
would kind if you could have a check and critisize my photographs.
Express Camera?12 Jul 2005 22:09 GMT7
Anyone have any experience with this company?
http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=102119&start=1
They are advertising the Nikon D-70 for $500 and the 18-70mm lens for $254.
Seems like the price is a little too good to be true? I did cal them and the
A Newsgroup Poll12 Jul 2005 17:54 GMT9
I was hoping to collect opinions from some of you with a sharp eye for
detail in photographs. My question is this:
In the following frame from the Zapruder film, taken of the JFK
assassination, is Mrs. Kennedy looking at her husband's neck, or was
Fujicolor Press12 Jul 2005 15:19 GMT1
Hi;
Wondering if anyone knows anything about the Fujicolor Press 400/800 films?
I can't find any data on them on the Fuji website, but I'm led to believe
that they're very similar - if not the same as - the Superia films of the
- flash problem.jpg (0/1) Canon probs when using 550EZ flash12 Jul 2005 12:42 GMT12
Can anyone shed some light on a problem I am having. (no pun intended)
I use an EOS 1d Mk2 with a 550EZ flash.
I set camera on evaluative metering and manually select a focus point.
I focus on main subject and recmpose shot if required.
A few tesla coil pics I took.12 Jul 2005 06:54 GMT12
Here is some photos I made of my Tesla coil. The main one, you'll see, has
been a mystery on the Tesla mailing list because it has these little colored
dots, like stars, yet, I religiously keep my camera lens dust free, and many
of the pictures show a completely different color ...
