Why I love Photography12 Apr 2005 21:40 GMT97
I see posts for why I love digital, and why I love film, but no one says why
they love photography.  Whether digital or film, it is the image and story
you are trying to tell, the emotion, the smack
you-in-the-face-damn-that's-good feeling.  And you created it.

I am looking for some software that I can use to produce mini thumbnail
versions of a directory of photos, and display the file name (for easy
reference) below each image (or somewhere near the image)
I have a copy of photoshop and this seems to have an automated contact

For those who want to try their hand at a mandated theme to shoot, the

Current mandate in one word is: "cute".

Does anybody know if there is a newsgroup/web forum for the Canon 10D in
English?  Just started out and any tips / hints etc would be better than
none at all.

Backpack for EOS 20D with Canon 100-400mm IS11 Apr 2005 01:25 GMT4
I've been looking at LowePro (and Crumpler) backpacks and am really
struggling to choose something. I prefer the LowePro range as I take my
camera with me hiking and these packs seem better suited to this activity.
I don't have a great deal of kit to carry - an EOS 20D with ...

security x-ray machines and film11 Apr 2005 01:01 GMT7
Does anyone know if the security x-ray machines in public/federal buildings
is as strong as those used at airports?
On a trip to Baltimore and D.C. this weekend I was very careful to have all
800 and 1600 film hand checked in the airports.  The security personel were
Picture lock11 Apr 2005 00:53 GMT4
I just bought an Olympus stylus 410 from a friend that found the
features overwhelming.  The memory card had about a dozen pictures on it
that I erased.  That is all except one.  My friend had unknowingly put a
lock on that picture,  Is there any way to erase a locked picture (the

Anyone got pics taken on a Nikon D2H?09 Apr 2005 06:45 GMT11
I want to look at the colors, that's all. I've been used to a fujifilm
compact, and I was given a Nikon coolpix 3200, which has very nice
features, but the colors don't seems a nice as the fuji. So I'm left
wondering if a similar effect will be seen on the SLR I plan to buy?
