...and I got to the lens and removed that, and on top of the CCD there was a aquamarine coloured transparent cube.. i removed it as I thought it might be the 'hot mirror' or what not, but now the camera wont work hah. anyways, anyone know what this is?

I read some threads on the D70 and IR photographing.. I understand that they are removing a 'hot mirror' which i assume is the IR filter... but, man... once thats off, u need to take the camera apart and replace the 'hot mirror' to take regular pics again... wow, thats a hassle.. ...
