Quantum Turbo Battery26 Jan 2005 05:42 GMT1
Why are the Quantum Turbo batteries so expensive ($300 and up)?  Isn't
it just a plastic box full of batteries with a few indicators and
connection cables, or am I missing something?
Your opinion please - hockey pics (2)26 Jan 2005 02:47 GMT3
I would like to thank everybody who commented on my hockey pics.
You are right by saying there were too many. The problem is that people
wanty the serie to tell a story, and family of the players want to see their
kin. They ask me to publish as many pics as I have, so on an event ...

Bulk film loading !!!!!!!!!!!!!!help!!!!!!!!!!!24 Jan 2005 22:35 GMT3
I try to load bulk film myself to cut the cost.  I found its very hard
to stick the film on the spool.  If I stick too much, the camera doesn't
rewind because the end of the film is too thick and it stucks the cap of
the cassette. if I don't stick that much, the tape doesn't hold ...
Panoramic photography of London and Hawaii24 Jan 2005 21:54 GMT1
I have put together these two interactive virtual tours of London and
Hawii over the last year or so. Anyone else doing panoramic (360) stuff
at all? And does anyone know of a good Java panoramic image viewer?
Ah, the bits are found at:
When does a thread vanish?24 Jan 2005 21:19 GMT9
I had started a thread about panoramic phtography on London. It was around

Nikon F6 versus F10024 Jan 2005 20:28 GMT2
In my experience, I've found that the matrix exposure system of the
F100 slightly underexposes the images, thereby making the F100 better
suited for photographers using slide film rather than negative film.
Does the same also hold true for the new F6, or this camera provides a
Which Black & White film for me?24 Jan 2005 19:54 GMT9
I am normally a colour-neg & digital kinda guy. I have found a lab who will
process pretty much anything I can throw at them, so thought I'd give some black
& white photography a go. I have used the Kodak C-41 B&W, which was ok but not
very interesting. Results looked like ...
negative orientation (newbie, apologies and all that. . .)24 Jan 2005 18:41 GMT6
I am scanning some old negatives, and I am trying to determine the
correct orientation of the images. I believe I have the concept
worked out, but perhaps not. Here goes:
Properly loaded, the film would be installed in the camera with the
Depth of digital images24 Jan 2005 18:24 GMT30
Why is it that even on really high quality digital images, even when there is a
massive depth of field, and photo taken with a standard lens that the image
looks compressed or flat, but 3D looking? Perspective is not flattened like with
a telephoto though. I mean far away objects ...
OT? Viewmaster Projector24 Jan 2005 18:09 GMT7
A slightly off the wall one here I think.
I live in the uk and have recently come into the possession of a Viewmaster
projector (Yes the 3D viewer type of thing but 2D on a screen). It lacks a
bulb but it says on it that it needsa 115V 30W bulb. The bulb socket seems
Rookie Lighting24 Jan 2005 10:02 GMT5
Hi there, now that I'm getting more and more into photography I'm
thinking about what I should get for lighting.  So far all I have is a
speedlite 420ex.  What I would like to do is build a cheap portable lighting
setup for taking portraits for friends and what not.  I have no ...
