Advice needed09 Nov 2004 14:16 GMT1
I have a Canon EOS 100 (Elan) that has been stored away for about 4 years,
the camera works fine but the grip has gone all sticky making it totally
unusable.  Does anybody have any advice as to how I can get this back to the
way it was?  I have only tried a little soap and water, I ...

I'm planning a Photographic winter getaway trip for
just for photographers. The trip is based out of
beautiful Jackson, Wyoming and the Grand Teton
National Park areas. Every time I go on one of these
Opinion on Flashes for Nikon D7008 Nov 2004 07:36 GMT1
I would appreciate opinions on flash units for my Nikon D70.  I am looking
at both Nikon and Metz.
The salesman recommends the Metz, but I am not familiar with their brand.
The specific models I am looking at are the Metz Mecablitz 54 AF-1 Digital

Tripod Mounts for Canon L lenses08 Nov 2004 06:32 GMT6
I just bought an used 70-200 f2.8 Canon lense and a 2x tele converter. The
store where I bought it from did not have the tripod mount. I was led to
believe that it was a fairly inexpensive part, WRONG!!!!     $150 to get a
new one.  Anyone know of an alternative to buying a Canon ...
Film vs. Digital reminds me of the Tube vs. Solid State debate in audio circles08 Nov 2004 06:18 GMT90
Could the difference between film and digital not only be megapixels
but the "look" in a vauge sense?
If any of you are guitar players, you know that it is widely believed
that tubes are superior in guitar amplifiers. They may not be as good
Question re mag factor on DSLRs and f/numbers08 Nov 2004 03:51 GMT15
Looking forward to getting my first digital ... trying to convince the wife
I "need" the new Canon 20D.  While I'm chipping away at the obstacles I'm
spending some time thinking about stuff involved in the transition from
film.  Here's one:
Problem viewing pictures07 Nov 2004 12:49 GMT3
bought a Samsung Digimax 300 and had no trouble downloading my pictures
with Windows XP.  I used the software provided and as soon as I connected
the camera to my PC I saw all my pictures.
I then added a memory card SanDisk 256Mb and now  when I connect the camera
Sigma Lenses.. any good?07 Nov 2004 11:14 GMT88
I am looking to get the Canon D20 and a 70-300mm zoom lens. If I save my
food stamps I can get the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens for
about $1200.
when I was looking at prices, online, just under the Canon lens, I saw
Autofocus equipment06 Nov 2004 21:15 GMT5
I currently have a Minolta SRT-201, with a Rokkor 50 mm, a Tokina 28 mm, and
a Rokkor 135 mm. This equipment has been satisfying my photo-taking needs
for the past 2 years, but am now seriously considering switching to
Autofocus equipment.
Nikon FM-10 vs, oh, let's say, Nikon N80...06 Nov 2004 20:55 GMT3
Now, we all know the N80 is a superior camera--it's in a totally
different price range.  The N80 costs used about what the FM-10 costs
new, and the FM-10 comes as a kit with a 50-80mm lens (I think that's
the focal length--somewhere around there). If I get a used N80 then I am
#rd party flash for 300D?06 Nov 2004 17:39 GMT13
The little pop up flash being what it is on the 300D I will buy a real
flash in the next few days. But the Canon ones are pricy. I think it is
probably possible to save some money by buying a 3rd party flash but
which one? Does anyone have any experience of these?
