Super Coolscan 5000 ED, or minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400? I'm looking for quality (of course), to make big (A1) prints but I also need speed. The quality and speed of the auto cleaning funtions of these scanners is important, too.

Someone sent me some slides to scan. Which side is the "front", i.e. which side should go toward the scanner bed? The side with the Kodak label or the side with the date? Don't laugh, I've never used slides. I've been doing research on scanning them and will be back-lighting them ...
