Digital camera "film" question29 Oct 2004 17:07 GMT4
Last time I was reading reviews on the 512MB Compact flash cards  a year and
a half ago, I was read a lot of reviews about how quickly Lexar exchanged
their defective CF cards.  While this is great for their service. what about
the reliability of their cards? Have they improved ...
OM4T selling questions.29 Oct 2004 16:54 GMT5
I have an Olympus OM4T and accessories that I'm looking into selling.
Is it best to sell it as a complete set or break things up? Is there a
place other than eBay to try and sell it?
Thanks for any tips,
Can I use a screen protector?29 Oct 2004 16:28 GMT6
I just got my new camera today and want to protect the view screen. Can I
use a screen protector from a PDA to protect the view screen on my canon D
rebel? It was quite an investment for me and I want to protect it.

Magazine photos - What digital resolution?29 Oct 2004 06:38 GMT5
Hello, all,
I haven't seen the answer to this in the posts, but I'm new here, so I
hope this question hasn't been rehashed to death in the group.
I'm a writer and amateur photographer, but don't have a digital camera
Max aperture for portrait at 75mm?29 Oct 2004 04:35 GMT18
Hi people,
Just wondering what the recommended max aperture for a close up portrait is at
75mm?
I just bought a Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 lens (the legendary one that many people say
Slide Scanners, which one?29 Oct 2004 04:34 GMT5
Just thought I would let you all know that I did purchase that DiMage
Scan Elite 5400 slide scanner.
I played with it one afternoon and was satisfied but do see a big need
to really read the manual which appears to me to be confusing and
My moon pics29 Oct 2004 04:14 GMT7
Ok 480mm zoom and looks like crap from the low shutter speed I think.
Iso100 and when I got back someone said "did you use iso 400?"  Shutter
speed was 1/60-1/3 I think. I was all over the place but the slower the
blurier...Good lesson for 2007 though, want to get a better lens and ...

A reply to all the replies.28 Oct 2004 18:01 GMT5
I would never have really thought that I would actually get such a
response to my post. I have never really done this and I was quite
skeptical but here I am proven wrong.
To start off with I think I need to clarify a few things. For a start
Canon G6 or Coolpix 8700?28 Oct 2004 16:18 GMT3
With the prices being so close (G6 $449, 8700 $498 online) I'm wondering
if I could get some advise for which camera would be recommended over
the other?
The reviews on the G6 seem to be very good all the way around,
Digital Rebel, or EOS 20D Digital?28 Oct 2004 06:57 GMT6
I know the 20D is almost double the price of the Rebel, but at the same
time, would it be worth the premium?
The 5FPS over the 2.5 FPS is very apealing to me, since I take a lot of
action shorts.
Lunar Photography?28 Oct 2004 04:28 GMT10
With the upcoming eclipse, I'd like to take some decent photos of the moon
as it changes color, etc, but all past images of the moon have not turned
out so great. I'd like to get some shots of just the moon, of the moon and
surrounding sky (clouds, etc.) and perhaps of the moon ...

Tiff dpi27 Oct 2004 20:30 GMT21
I have a canon rebel and use the canon software to convert from raw to
tiff.  The default resolution seems to be 96dpi which I've been leaving it
at.  It makes an 18 meg tiff.  Should I be changing this to 300dpi if I want
to take them in to get printed?
