Flash for Canon G928 Sep 2008 17:11 GMT1
Looking for a hotshoe flash for my Canon G9 digi camera. I am a newbie at
photography, the flash would be used for mostly indoor shots (parties, etc)
and the odd out door shot where a bit more distance is required.
Looking at the Canon 220EX and the Sunpak PZ40X. Which one would ...

JPEG vs RAW24 Sep 2008 17:42 GMT5
I have seen advice offered to inexperienced photographers that it is
better to shoot RAW  rather than JPEG. I assumed it was a graduation
in seriousness from JPEG to RAW; but now I think I see.

Finally organising photos in Picassa24 Sep 2008 11:22 GMT12
Novice has years of photos moved around and copied 'here and there', so now
has lots of *duplicates* all over the place, including the external hard

In an attempt to organise them i downloaded Picassa and so can easily
Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8 dodgy reputation22 Sep 2008 18:11 GMT2
I own the Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 dg ex. Like many amateurs, I am a
prodigious reader of opinions and reviews of kit that I already own,
as well as what I would like to own. The aforementioned lens gets a
very bad press. I have had good results (with a bit of positive

Ive just been to collect some photos from my local lab and the guy there
(curse him!!) handed me a Bronica MF camera body, lens and [prism. The meter
doesnt work inn the prism but the rest is immaculate, and all for about 150
quid.
Sounds from Canon Powershot G915 Sep 2008 13:56 GMT3
Wondered if I could pick the brain of any other Powershot G9 owners...
I just got one today, via Amazon. I noticed the box had been
previously opened which made me suspicious, perhaps too suspicious,
from the moment I switched it on. But when it's on, it's endlessly

Sigma 150-500, Sigma 50-500 or Tamron 200-500 ?08 Sep 2008 18:24 GMT3
I'm trying to decide between the Sigma 150-500, the Sigma 50-500 (Bigma) and
Tamron 200-500. Any ideas about which I should go for. I have a Nikon D300,
a Sigma 10-20, Nikon 18-200 and Sigma 600 Mirror/Reflex already.
Cheers,

ree Fujifilm Pro S506 Sep 2008 13:21 GMT2
Just recently I purchased a Fujifilm Pro S5 Camera with great
expectations.  Even the Store Salesman raved about the Camera - He has
one.  Well I am perplexed.  Prior to this I had a Nikon D40 - wish I
had never sold it.
