print sharpening and quality printers30 Jun 2008 23:48 GMT2
A friend used to print any photos I sold as prints for me and any
commercial sales I just sent a .tiff file. Now he has stopped and as
stopgap i'm using photobox, who just accept jpegs. I'm sure there must be
better quality out there who print from the better quality tiff or raw? ...
35mm equivalent sizes30 Jun 2008 14:09 GMT33
I have a 75 - 300mm telephoto that I bought for my Canon film camera. I have
now gone digital and got a Canon 450D. If I use this lens on the 450D what
would be the 35mm equivalent range? I can't remember how to work it out.
Thanks
Webcam for a Hotel29 Jun 2008 12:09 GMT10
We have a customer in the Scottish Highlands who wants to put the
beautiful view from her hotel window on her website so that potential
guests can see them in real time.
Does anyone know where we can source an outdoor webcam which will do
Linking GPS to pictures28 Jun 2008 09:17 GMT4
I got one of the i-gotU devices from Maplins last week.
This is a little GPS unit that logs its position periodically and then
these can be used to place photographs taken on a map from the time they
were taken.  These can be exported in standard GPS formats.
flying with cameras28 Jun 2008 07:45 GMT1
i weighed my shiny new Lowe nature Trekker loaded and its over 10K. Its
said to be cabin baggage freindly but in my experience the modern check in
nazi sees anything thats "rucksack" as twice its real size. Anyway, what do
people do to get bags of cameras onto planes? I assume the ...

Camera Models16 Jun 2008 22:25 GMT8
My daughter is looking at cameras and  am trying to help (interfere).
Whenever she spots one that seems interesting I take a look on the
manufacturers' web site to check the spec and to see if it is current. I am
amazed how often the model doesn't exist on the manufactures' web ...
D80 problems10 Jun 2008 17:14 GMT5
A year ago I bought a Nikon D80 with an 18-200 VR lens. The lens is an
absolute beauty and I have no complaint with it, but the camera has
left me seriously underwhelmed. Apart from a number of other
irritating niggles, the main problem I have is that it is extremely

Passort Photo10 Jun 2008 11:10 GMT12
I need to get a photo of my 6 year old grandson for a passport renewal.
The last time I took some passport photos I used a projection screen for the
background. I have just read the requirements on the UK Passports web site
and see it now requests "Light Gray or Cream".
best place to buy memory cards/batteries on t'internet?09 Jun 2008 18:22 GMT8
Exactly as the subject says, I'd like some spare memory and batteries for my
Canon G9.
SD or SDHC - does it matter?
Thanks, Peter
Why do/did lens names end in -or or -ar?09 Jun 2008 01:29 GMT4
It intrigues me why the names of lenses end in -or or -ar.  For
example, Tessar, Pancolar, Soligor, Vivitar, and several more I can't
remember.
Bruce Schneier: "Are photographers really a threat?"06 Jun 2008 23:53 GMT5
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/jun/05/news.terrorism
What is it with photographers these days? Are they really all
terrorists, or does everyone just think they are?
Since 9/11, there has been an increasing war on
