Your holiday snaps - are they printed on photo paper?31 Aug 2007 19:48 GMT4
My wife takes a lot of pictures on Kodak 200 film, or so. When she takes
them to Boots (or elsewhere) to be printed, are they going to be printed
on photographic paper? Or is Boots (or elsewhere) going to scan the negs
and print them on an inkjet printer (or laser, etc)?
Recommend supplier for Canon EOS31 Aug 2007 19:39 GMT2
Next month I'm looking to purchase a Canon 40D, 70-200 F2.8L, 17-40 F4L and
a 1.4x Teleconverter. I've been scouring the internet for the best prices
and there is quite a variation between some of them. Can anybody recommend a
good supllier, been a Yorkshireman I'm looking for ...
Best way to treat slides with mould growth31 Aug 2007 14:46 GMT2
OK - I confess, I probably didn't store them very well. But I now have
1500 slides, of which perhaps 10% appear to have some growth on the
emulsion. They date from about 1967 to now and are all Kodachrome 2, 25,
or 64.
Interval shooting with a webcam?30 Aug 2007 10:07 GMT3
I need to shoot a sequence over ~ 6 hours, taking 640x480 pics every
0.5 - 1 second, these being stored as sequentially numbered jpegs.
Can anyone recommend the best software (running under windoze 2k or
xp) for doing this?
Repair or not repair that is the question27 Aug 2007 21:39 GMT5
Well it had to happen at some point my Fuji S2 Pro has stopped writing to
the card. I know it's the camera as I tested the card in another camera and
the Fuji reads the images it just doesn't write them. All batteries are new
and does the same on mains.

Recommend a digital printing process lab or shop?22 Aug 2007 08:40 GMT3
I have a few digital holiday images which I need printed for an elderly
relative.  Can anybody recommend an instant high street service (boots
perhaps) or an mail order or online service which is reasonably cheap but
reliable.
Book recommendations21 Aug 2007 19:23 GMT1
With a birthday coming up and family asking what I would like as a
gift, I wondered about a photography book.
Can anyone recommend a book that is not about technique and theory but
inspirational photos and stories. I mostly shoot film using colour and

Canon EOS 40020 Aug 2007 09:44 GMT11
I am looking at this as a replacement for my 4 year old (and beloved,
though frustratingly limiting) powershot G5.
The main reason for my wishing to replace a camera I really like is
the lag between focussing and shooting, in some circumstances and the
Camera(Dig) for Evidential photos19 Aug 2007 11:58 GMT15
Hi, I have a need to produce evidential photos, that is, they contain
date, time & poss. location info either superimposed on the image or within
the Exif data.
The  trick is that the data is set automaticaly & is not
Jessops Sale19 Aug 2007 11:17 GMT4
One of the two Jessops stores in Milton Keynes is having its closing down
sale, and try as hard as I can, I've yet to find anything worth blowing my
cash on.  (Not quite true - I did buy a USB2 powered hub two weeks ago.  The
70% off made the price acceptable.)
Strange jpeg problem19 Aug 2007 01:42 GMT1
I use Breezebrowser for nearly all my photo browsing, RAW conversion etc.
and then PS6 for Levels, Curves adjustment and USM prior to printing.
In Breezebrowser there's a facility to view jpegs at 100% for focus checks
etc., and, on my current PC, viewing my Canon EOS sourced ...
People with hats18 Aug 2007 23:13 GMT16
How do you expose for people with hats in bright sunlight? I have a
number of pictures of people, beautifully exposed - except for their
faces in the shadows of their hats, and in particular their eyes (so in
other words, often the most important parts of the image).
Need new monitor18 Aug 2007 14:24 GMT8
I have just noticed that my (nearly) four year old Iiyma CRT monitor
is just slighty out of focus centre screen but sharp elsewhere.
Methinks replacement looms.
I would like another CRT monitor as I find them better and easier to
