| film scanner | 31 Jan 2007 20:28 GMT | 6 |
I've been using a Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV with some success, but its transport mechanism is now failing - it seems as if some teeth from a gear wheel or similar are worne, and the negative holder has needed a gentle push when scanning. This has become much worse recently.

Has anyone come across this make before? Any idea who made them (my guess is Zeiss Jena or somewhere else in the old Soviet bloc), and if they're worth having? The wide max aperture appeals, as does the 35mm focal length, but I don't want to buy it if I just end up having to put

I keep reading about IS in modern cameras and lenses and people seem to go on about it as if it's essential. It's not in any camera I have and it was never in any camera I've ever had. I've managed to get perfectly good and sharp shots over the years,

I have narrowed my choice down to these two. I'm not a professional photographer or anything, just a hobbyist. I have an Nikon F65 but i gather that its lens won't interchange with the D40? I have read a few reviews for both and sometimes i feel that reviews are being
