Q: Nikon 8800 EXIF orientation tag ?08 Jun 2005 20:14 GMT1
I have a Canon IXUS 400 and a Nikon 8800 (which I use a lot).
The Nikon 8800 does not seem to write the EXIF Orientation
tag if I take portrait or landscape shots so I cannot use
the auto-rotate feature certain programs offer to speed up
This nweeks AP. that Hare foto07 Jun 2005 09:23 GMT4
In this weeks AP there,s a nice twom page spread of a Hare.  Clearly the
hare is NOT a good image, being over enlarged and badly pixelated.
Is this a bad photo do you think, or just bad editing?  Or do magazines like
this not preview their pages properly?
Manfrotto 144 Leglock Part06 Jun 2005 22:55 GMT2
I've an old 144 Manfrotto tripod and am after losing one the the "wingnuts"
that tighten and loosen the leglocks. The result is one leg section rendered
useless.
I've tried my local B&Q and other such stores to see if a standard wingnut
EOS350D update05 Jun 2005 19:47 GMT3
I finally managed to get some good results from the camera.
The main thing I did was change the lens from the zoom that came with it for
a 35mm f2.
This was like night and day.
Have I ordered wrong ring or their mistake?05 Jun 2005 18:22 GMT10
I ordered a 55-46mm step down ring from ffordes. I lookes nice and
made in germany but it has a female 55mm bit and a male 46mm bit.
My camera has a female 55mm socket and I wanted to get a 46mm lense
which I assume will have a male 46mm thread.

Cokin filter suppliers?04 Jun 2005 15:54 GMT19
I'm after a few cokin P filters - specifically, ND grad and NDs for a
Canadian holiday at the end of July.
My local shop wont supply them because of min. order quantities and my local
Jessops think they can get them "probably. In a few weeks". Ye gods.  In
Nikon D70 pixel error03 Jun 2005 19:59 GMT4
I've noticed a single pixel of the D70's sensor is not working.  It
always shows white.  Seems a bit picky to complain about one in six
million or so but OTOH the camera was a considerable amount of money
(for me anyway).  Does everyone think this is an acceptable error rate
Insuring your gear03 Jun 2005 11:42 GMT7
Just wondering what you guys do for insurance. I was alarmed to find a
clause in the small print of my house contents policy (under personal
possessions) that specifically limits the value of photographic
equipment left in an unoccupied vehicle to £2000.
