Panoramas15 Apr 2005 09:09 GMT9
I would like to convert the digital pictures I take on backpacking trips in
The Lakes , Scotland etc into the odd large panorama (6' x 2'), which I
could frame and hang at home.
I have the software (Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album) to stitch the photos

Digital NG?13 Apr 2005 11:43 GMT8
Is there a UK digital news group or forum?
The US one seems to be a bit of a rabble and I am looking for some advice.
I mainly shoot 35mm but I have a Nikon point and shoot digital.
There was an article on optimising digital photos in AP last year
Right i'm staying film, is this a good choice?13 Apr 2005 09:40 GMT9
I've decided to avoid non full frame bodies and wait until full
frame gets to my price range, so am getting a Canon 300X with a
28-90. Now, I shoot mainly wide angle landscape, so Sigma 15-30
is on the cards. Sigma seem to say its fine for film and digital
Canon 350D11 Apr 2005 21:37 GMT21
I've decided that now is the time to move into the big wide world of a
DSLR. I was going to go for a 300D, based on price, but am now leaning
towards the 350D.
I've been checking up some reviews of the camera and they seem positive.
Lens recommendations please for wildlife photography11 Apr 2005 18:06 GMT25
Apologies if this sounds like a rather stupid and basic question but we're
off to on safari to see some african wildlife this summer and whilst it's
tempting to splash out lots of money on a all singing all dancing new
digital camera (my old 2.1 megapixel Nikon just doesn't ...
monitor for photoediting - CRT or TFT?10 Apr 2005 22:26 GMT5
My 8 year old Iiyama diamondtron seems to be on the blink (image
randomly jumping narrower then wider horizontally) so I may need a new
monitor soon. I want a min. native resolution of 1600x1200, but I'm not
sure what to go for, bearing in mind it would be used for photo editing
Digital successor to Dynax 7000i10 Apr 2005 19:33 GMT1
I have a very comprehensive Minolta dynax 7000i system with lenses
from 20 - 450mm, 3 zooms etc and although it is a bit dated still
performs well. Does anyone know if there is a digital body which will
use the dynax lenses and if so - any details please
Goodbye to Colab?09 Apr 2005 09:36 GMT7
A couple of weeks ago I sent a film to Colab.  It was returned with a
note from "The Administrators" saying it could not be processed at the
moment.
I'll be sorry to see Colab go to the wall - I've always been very
Skylight and UV filters07 Apr 2005 22:41 GMT7
I know that these filters are used to reduce haze in landscape photos,
and can be left on all the time to protect the lens, but I have a couple
of questions about them:
1) Is a UV filter a more effective version of a Skyfilter?
Eric Ager06 Apr 2005 22:05 GMT14
I would appreciate some advice on a copyright issue.
We have a copy of a photograph taken by Eric Ager of Northampton
in the 1950s that we would like to include in a book that we are writing
about our village. I have had a look at the laws covering copyright for

Kodak Rechargeable battery Pack - best alternative?06 Apr 2005 16:05 GMT1
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have an oldish Kodak
DX3900 which takes the KAA2HR NiMH rechargeable battery pack.
As any owners of this camera know, this battery pack lasts for about 5
photos and wont charge up properly.
