WTD: Photo printer recomendations31 Dec 2004 01:16 GMT2
I'm looking for a photo printer whether a PC one that uses ink jet
technology that will allow bigger than the 6x4 prints or a stand alone unit
that is specific for Digital cameras which use Dye sublimation technology
and only allow 6x4 max prints.
Excel Photo Laboratories UK - out of business?30 Dec 2004 16:49 GMT10
I used them for the previous 3 yeasr and got great pictures, much better
than high street 1 hour labs (I learnt my lesson with Max Spielmann whos
pictures came out dusty with a tint of brown!) however my wife sent a film
last summer and we have heard nothing - no pictures & no ...

I have plans to use slave flashlight with Canon Powershot S30.  Wonder
if camera fires a "pre-flash" that would trigger the slave flash too
early?  Could not find any S30-specific info, so all comments are

Newbie: Fuji Finepix E510 - batteries die quickly - help!24 Dec 2004 09:41 GMT1
Apologies in advance if this sounds a stupid/too vague a question...
I just got my first digital camera, a Fuji Finepix E510 (5.2 mp) and I was
horrified by how quickly the battery power ran out.  I put the batteries in
at 5pm and by 7:30pm I was putting in new ones!  And  I didn't ...
Upgrade help23 Dec 2004 00:31 GMT2
I currently have a Minolta Dynax 5xi with two Minolta xi lenses, one 28-80
the other 80-200.
I had been looking at getting a digital SLR and was edging towards the Canon
300D, but I cannot justify the money at the moment. I see that Minolta now
Scanner for medium format - Canon 9900F vs Epson 4870?22 Dec 2004 22:57 GMT6
I am looking for a scanner for medium format film (colour negative).
I can't afford a Nikon Coolscan LS9000 or a Minolta Dimage Scan Multi, or
even an Epson F3200, so I'm looking for a flat-bed scanner with transparency
adaptor.

I've been looking into this subject on the 'net and found info, but I'm
wondering how to reload my Kodak HD, which I bought from a pound shop,
and had already been reloaded and put in a card box.  I can work
everything out apart from how to wind the film out as the sprocket will

EOS 20d from abroad21 Dec 2004 10:59 GMT1
I have my sights set on a 20d + 24-70L lens.
Prices here are a bit on the high side.
US price is around ?1400 for both but the vat + import duty is a swine.
I see some bargains in Germany...
Digital SLR advice please20 Dec 2004 12:02 GMT9
I'm  after my first digital SLR.  I have a Fuji S7000 bridge camera which is
fine, but it's not really that satisfying after my SLRs.
I have Pentax Super A and MZ6, both of which are nice (except that the
autofocus on the MZ6 is a tad ropey in low light or on moving subjects).
Olympus OM101 ?20 Dec 2004 06:07 GMT2
I am a bit new to all this and wondered what the general thoughts are of the
Olympus OM101 camera body.
I have the standard 35-70mm zoom lens and a Zykkor Auto Zoom 80-200mm lens ?
Thanks.
