Lens woes12 Oct 2004 11:35 GMT1
I have one of those 500mm f8 mirror lenses (Makinnon) which seems to have a
problem.
At close distances (up to around 20') the lens works great and is reasonably
sharp for a mirror, however it will not focus to infinity.
DP magazine tutorials11 Oct 2004 23:06 GMT1
I recently discovered the magazine 'Digital Photographer' and I think
it's terrific. I especially like their step by step tutorials they put
in PDF format on the magazine's CD. I went to the editor's web site
http://www.paragon.co.uk and I found no information about how to order

iso high quality sheet protectors for 4 ring binder10 Oct 2004 23:54 GMT3
I live in the States and had a custom portfolio made that has a ring set
that has four rings. Here it usually just a 3 ring or a multi ring. So there
are no sheet protectors for the 4 ring here. Multi ring pages won't fit in a
4 ring. I've been told 4 ring is common in Europe ??  ...

I have one of the two still intact but one has unscrewed itself and gone

sahrpen in camera or with photoshop elements10 Oct 2004 01:43 GMT3
I use a Nikon 4500 and have had suggested that images would be better if I
used maximum sharpening in camera. I always believed that it was better  to
use software on my PC e.g. Elements, because of greater computer power.
Any comments or views on this?

mm difference in Lenses?!!?06 Oct 2004 20:03 GMT26
I couldn't think of a suitable subject line!
I know you lose mm in lenses when using a digital SLR over a 35mm SLR, but
how do you work out how much?
for example I heard that a 50mm lens is more like a 80mm on a digital slr...
Advice please06 Oct 2004 15:57 GMT3
Having just been sting by Watford Electronics - aka Savastore [1] I'd
welcome advice on whether Pixmania is a reliable company.
Do they deliver on time and are they trustworthy?
Thanks for any comments.
York Excel Photo Labs06 Oct 2004 09:21 GMT2
Does anyone know if York Excel Photo Labs are still trading?
I posted 2 films off to them on the 7th of September and haven't got the
photos back yet. They don't usually take this long...and their website
(www.yorkexcel.co.uk) now redirects to Truprint.

I've just recently got a Nikon F90x, a Sigma 28-300mm and a SB26 speedlight.
I've set it up right I think but there's a few niggles.  For a start in
Aperture mode the shutter speed stays at 1/60 - how do I get it to go to
1/250?  Also the exposure difference display is up all the ...
