Adobe Photoshop on Ebay.co.uk  What's the scam?30 Sep 2004 15:58 GMT36
Adobe PS 6, 7 and CS apear to be available on Ebay at silly prices. All the
advertisers are at pains to point out that it's the CD and Serial Number
only that are on offer. Some mention (in small print) that the item is being
sold "as backup only" and that the buyer should already ...
Photo shops in London30 Sep 2004 13:46 GMT7
I'm going to London in the near future and was wondering if you could
give me some recomendations on which shops to look for. I'll be
staying in proximity of Canary Wharf, but if there's better
opportunities other places i'll take them into account as well.
Kodak VR Plus film29 Sep 2004 21:27 GMT2
I've been given a number of Kodak films, one of which is a VR Plus.
Anybody have the specs for it?  I can't find any info on it, even from
Kodak!  I take it that it's no longer made.

Any suggestions - I'll be allowed (by her indoors - yes I do Know who wears
the trousers - it's just she doesn't) to buy an iPod shortly - ostensibly
for music.  I'm about to fork out for a 300d - any suggestions as to how I
get CF'd images on to the iPod.

Does anyone know how to get the self-timer working?
New digital back for Lecia R8 & R928 Sep 2004 10:02 GMT5
I read that Leitz have announced digital camera backs for both the R8 & R9.
Their approach is refreshing as the existing camera back is replaced with
the digital one. So why do Nikon, Canon etc make specific cameras when we
could have the advantages of film and digital and less ...

Best camera for A-level photography?27 Sep 2004 00:13 GMT15
My son is just starting an A-level photography course and his current camera
is looking a little limiting - an oldish Olympus with few manual settings.
The course tutor has suggested some possible choices (I'm assuming these are
available second hand as my budget has its limits): ...
Lighting kits26 Sep 2004 16:55 GMT1
As a historic user of Bowens and Courtney flash systems I am faced with the
possibility of putting together another studio.
With so many variants on the market can anyone give me some practical
information on reliability and service back up and anything else of
Card reader with internal memory? Does it exist?26 Sep 2004 02:31 GMT2
I am looking for a combination card reader/storage device for digital

The way it would work is that I could download the contents of the card
onto a memory card reader, without needing to download them onto a

I've just inherited a Minolta 7000 Af camera and a 28-85mm lens. I am
looking for a few more lenses for it however i know nothing about Minolta's.
Basically, will all minolta AF lenses fit this camera? If not, how do i know

Image filing / cataloguing25 Sep 2004 12:02 GMT14
I have had a digital camera for a few months now and my hard drive is fast
filling up with digital photo's. I think its about time I seriously looked
at arranging them in some sort of order before things get any further out of
hand, this I now find, isn't as easy as I first thought!

Now that Joe's Basement is not with us anymore I have no idea who else
can print B&W photos in London (ideally West London).. Any idea?
non-cropping aspect ratio correction22 Sep 2004 10:07 GMT3
My digital camera has an aspect ratio of 4:3. My printshop prints in
3:2. I don't like the cropping.. Is there a prog that ADDS (white)
bands on the short site to convert form 4:3 to 3:2?
P.S. is this the right newsgroup for such a question? Any

I went to photograph a sailing race at a local reservoir today, for our
sports pages - makes a nice change from the usual football, football
and yet more football.
Anyway, they took me out on a speedy launch, so we could maneuvre
