Experiences with personalized mugs30 Aug 2004 16:28 GMT1
(I am forwarding the below from rec.photo.misc, having discovered that
there is an equivalent UK group which will be better placed to answer)
Dear all,
Apologies in advance if this is offtopic for this group. I want to get
Stock photos - rates.30 Aug 2004 12:01 GMT4
Ok been approached by an company to lease a shot for a video (VHS/DVD)
use, non-exclusive, English only, world-wide rights for the life of the
product. It's an educational video aimed at the general public.
The image will be shown for about a minute on a video... They need a 5Mb
Ilford and holographic materials29 Aug 2004 17:02 GMT1
Ilford, I thought, still made some materials which are not obtainable
elsewhere for scientific imaging, including holographic films.
Not that it affects many people much, but what will happen in this field
if the film is no longer available?
Nikon zoom-tele28 Aug 2004 22:20 GMT3
I would like to replace my Nikon 70-300mm ED lens with a higher quality
product. The lenses that I am considering for the upgrade are the following:
- Nikon AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8 ED
- Nikon AF 80-200mm D f/2.8 ED
Minolta Z1 or Z2?27 Aug 2004 15:27 GMT8
I have been looking around for some time and like the look of the above
digital cameras.
Has any one any experience of them?
Cheers
Instruction manual for EOS 3027 Aug 2004 08:36 GMT8
Last week, after having had it for 20 years, I finally sold my 35mm system
(a Canon T70) completing my transition to digital (an EOS 300D).
The next day, I bought an EOS 30 body in a eBay auction.
I still haven't worked out, for the life of me, why I did that.
Canon 10D vs Fuji S227 Aug 2004 08:11 GMT8
Hi chaps --
After much humming and hawing, I've pretty much decided to buy myself a
digi SLR. It's a toss-up between a Canon 10D, or a Fuji S2 Pro. I've had
a play with both, and prefer the 10D, but wondered if anyone had any
UK Insurance25 Aug 2004 14:38 GMT5
I need to insure my camera against all risks, tried home insurance but
they refuse to insure it as it's a business item.
It's a Canon dSLR and 3 L series lenses, totaling 3K.
Can anyone recommend a insurer that covers this?

mail order lab processing23 Aug 2004 15:41 GMT2
What are recommendations for good (rather than ordinary) mail-order
processing labs in the UK for 120 (colour/B&W/slide/print) in
particular, but also some 35mm.  NOT DIGITAL, please.
Thanks

High Street Digital Reprints?22 Aug 2004 11:18 GMT8
Where's the best place in the UK to go on the high street for digital
reprints?
I'll be bringing the photos on a CD (scanned from 35m negatives) and
need reprints the same day. A 1 hr or 3 hr wait is fine.
Where can I buy an Optio S4?21 Aug 2004 00:26 GMT5
Just had my Pentax Optio S4 lost/stolen and was hoping to find an identical
camera at a knocked down price as it would be end of line. I payed about
?250 for it several months ago.
Amazon did have them for just under ?200 but they have no stock left.
A funny tale?20 Aug 2004 21:05 GMT8
Shooting an outdoor portrait session today I suddenly noticed the clients'
dog pissing onto my camera bag!!!
They say a problem shared is a problem halved.
Bag still stinks though.
Film processing and scanning to CD WITHOUT prints20 Aug 2004 19:43 GMT2
Does anyone offer a service to process 35mm films and scan to CD,
wihtout supplying prints (which will hopefully make it cheaper)?
Everyone I've checked so far insists on giving you prints and charging
extra for scanning to CD.
