I would like to replace my current SLR & 85mm with a digital setup and I
have been informed that a 50mm lens gives a similar effect to an 85mm on a
non-digital SLR.
Is this true?

I've got an EOS-30 which I use primarily for landscape and photographing

1400L and my film cameras. Since my Canon cameras are getting on a bit
